What is the biggest POS with a most ridiculous price tag you ever seen at a gun show?

I WOULDN'T CALL IT A POS

but one big seller here has PF9 for $539. and you can go any were else and get them for $279-329.

this guy has all the middle tables two rows from end to end, i cant see why anyone buys from him when all they have to do is look behind them for the same gun for less price

Talking about the Tallahassee gun show, Chevelle? Sounds like a seller we get here. He'll talk crap about the other sellers' "knockoffs and junk guns" too.

Hi point carbine used with $10 laser and $30 scope for $550 on "clearance".

Mosin Nagant M44 for $249. "Clearance sniper rifle"...

Walter P99 for $550 "James Bonds gun in .22!"...not quite.

Genuine Mosin Nagant "Snipers" for $1,295

Glock 22 police trade in guns, Gen 2 with dead night sights, 2 mags, and no finish, for $625

Ruger LCPs for $465, used

S&W Sigmas jacked up $40 more after the $50 rebate came out

Bubba'd NEF single-shot shotguns that sell for $100 new at Wal-Mart for $180 used, with beat up stocks, actions rusted shut, and a Krylon paint job to boot. I see at least one of these at every show I've ever been to.

Smith Mod 57 for $1000. It went through a fire with 6 rounds in it. They all went off and the thing was locked up so tight you couldnt open the cylinder with a hammer.

Where?! I would have bought it. Rare to find a revolver that has a story attach to it!

I will be happy to buy a M57 for $700, set it on fire for you, and sell it for $1,000 :D

When the gun shows in Texas go sour, that's not good news. I used to love to got to Texas on business because you could always find a great show somewhere.

I've about quit going. I still think it's fun to stand around and see what the crowd drags in to sell, but even that's not worth the trouble any more.

As for prices, the first FN SCAR I ever laid eyes on had a $3800 price tag. I was able to control my "impulse buy" urge.

ohhhh ctaylor....

Avoid the Saxet show that tours around Texas... big crap

In Saxet, I only remember one nice gentleman that sells loads of Mosin Nagent rifles in great condition for around 120 each. He's from round rock I believe.

Other than that, it's sad.

In 2008 Saxet show in San Antonio, I saw this young marine came into the gun show to buy a gun. He wanted a used gun to take with him to Iraq or something (not sure if he can use something other than his issued weapon, I am not military so I don't know), and the dealer sold him a SW sigma 45 for 650.

Very rough 1911 labeled an AMT Hardballer which looked like someone had ran over it with a lawnmower two or three times, with some weird really off brand slide that clearly wasn't even a POS AMT, miss matched grips, and all for the grand low price of $475.

I have seen Taurus revolvers with S&W grips and once saw a Norinco 1911 with colt grips on them with S&W and Colt prices. I asked the guy with the Norinco about the grips and he said those are the only ones that he had. I said "sure".

A custom .22-250 varmint rifle with a barrel thick as truck axle, with at least 3 differnet set of scope base holes bored in the barrel, a stock that looked like a cut down railroad tie and the dealer wouldn't let you bore light it! $1500.! He left with it, probably used it to chock a tire when he got a flat!

Saw a Mosin Nagant beat to hell, dinged up, with a light caking of rust on most of the metal and most of the foregrip section gone for $160. Two tables over were clean, well-finished, pristine-looking ones for the same price.

Oh, I've got another one! Saw this Smith .44 Special fully engraved with a "Fitz" trigger guard and silver grips inlaid with random mother of pearl sections. Probably the most gaudy handgun I've ever seen. I asked the man behind the table the story about it and he said he'd gotten it the day before and was asking $1800, but was going to research more and thought it might be worth $5000. Mexican engraving, talking about the pearl inserts, etc. I smiled and nodded, but he would have had to pay me to take the unfortunate revolver off his hands.

My thoughts while walking through "gunshows":

Nice to look at guns, but I sure wouldn't buy here.

Don't these fools (vendors) get tired of carrying ammo back out to their truck.

I'd buy some jerky if I didn't have to floss for an hour after.

There sure are a lot of jerks taking advantage of ignorant people.

I could have bought a box of 9mm for the price of admission.

An old scratched up Hi Point C9 for $249. The guy's reason was "it was one of the older ones that was made out of real steel not the pot metal the new ones are made out of!":uhoh:

For the shows I have attended in the Dallas area, there always seem to be a deal or two that ARE good.

Recently, I found a SIG226 in 40 LNIB for 399 that I bought.

I came accross a excellent condiditon M1A scout for $1200.
(My wife would have shot me, if i would have bought)

I came accross a beautiful FAL with wood furniture for $800
(not Century crap, but didnt buy)

You also have a great opportunity to buy FTF from individuals who want to sell their guns.

I think if you go to the show with the right attitude, (AND.... if you like Jerky
I DO!!) you will do fine

Most products are way over priced, but you can find deals

Worst thing I've seen was an m1 carbine reworked to .45 win mag for $1800 (that admitedly being a few years back) at the Puyallup show. It was still in the table for about 6 months in a row.

A JOHN WAYNE commemorative .25 Raven! I figure it's worth at least 3K because they only made 77,000 of them between 1967 and 1983.

No offense intended, but somehow in the future I see you with your own table at a gun show trying to sell a Raven .25 that's worth way more in the eyes of the seller than to the market :D.

I had a Raven .25 that I paid $65 new in 1978. Is that 77,000 John Wayne editions, or all Ravens produced. I am sorry but I cannot fathom $1000 for one, I feel like I got ripped off for the $65. Again I do apologize, my only experience is with the 1, 30+ years ago. I would like to see a picture of it though.

I sincerely hope you're kidding about a Raven .25. I have never seen a Raven I would pay over $15 for and I have a pretty good idea John Wayne's estate would have sued Raven poopless if they had tried to put Wayne's name on a Raven. I confiscated a stolen Raven once and when I contacted the owner to return it after court he didn't want it back.

Theres a raven .25 at a store around me for $175. I asked the owner about it and he said it was a great little gun... I then talked to the guy who does all the gun smithing about it and he started laughing saying it had been there since he could remember. He informed me of how crappy it was.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how some of these places stay in business.

There's one born every minute...

Generally the "overpriced POS" to me is some gawdawful plated, engraved, gussied up pimp gun...

I saw an FM Argentinian HP at the most recent show I attended. It was not in very good condition but the guy was asking $850. I asked why it was priced so high. He said that it had the Argentinian police crest on it. (If it was there, it was barely there because I never saw it). To which I replied "so?" He then proceeded to tell me that the crest alone was going for up to $2,000 according to his book. To which I replied, "Oh!" I then smiled and walked off.

so many I don't have enough time. 450 Chicom SKS, 500 dollar Yugo SKS, one guy had a romy folding stock that was broken, he wanted 100 bucks. Most of these sellers seem to be running a museum. They don't want to part with anything. I guess they enjoy hauling stuff back and forth to gun shows and also enjoy looking at it.
