Colt Enhanced Gov't Model, in .45 ACP--also primary duty gun.
Glock 22, .40 S&W--when the 1911's down for maintenance.
Glock 27, .40 S&W--when I'm not wearing enough to conceal a full sized pistol. Also backup gun while on duty.

All are loaded with Winchester Ranger SXT.

S&W m37, no lock, with +P hollowpoints.

Frequently (usually, really) also my Kimber Ultra Carry II .45, JHPs.

Caspian custom commander 1911 with titanium frame. I carry what I train with and carry what I compete with (IDPA etc.).

Carry Guns

I like to alternate between my SIG 232 .380 and my CZ 2075 in .40. I think both are terrific and have never had a problem with either.

I prefer my Bersa Thunder 380 with Corbon JHPs. I think most of us can agree on the CorBon ammo. They're indeed some of the best producers. A 380 loaded with corbon JHPs has a 75% stopping rate with the first shot (beats a .38 snub hands down- via Chuck Hawks). If you're like me, however, I prefer to give them a double-tap to the chest (the 380's smooth kick allows this to be extremely easy) Thus, you have dead opposition and don't have to worry about being sued.

Don't forget about their families and loved ones. Like I tell all of my students, every bullet you fire from your gun has a lawyer attached to the end of it. Be sure where that lawyer lands, and why you launched him, and you shouldn't have much to worry about.

P-220. I have 2, so its rotational depending on my mood.
2004 vintage P220R: bad day, need tactical help.
1990 vintage P220 American: good day, feeling classy.
I wear them like underwear. No comments please.

Ever thought of writing crime novels? ;)

Some of you are carrying some pretty big iron when you go out to fetch the newspaper from the front yard.

I overheard my Lawn Gnomes plotting an uprising. I have to be prepared.
:)

Actually, several people have moved out of my nice little suburban neighborhood over the last couple of years, and they've put the houses up for rent. Needless to say, the character of my neighborhood has changed somewhat.

Two months ago, I got home from work to find a swarm of county police cars around the house four doors down. They were breaking up a meth lab. I hadn't met the occupants, as they weren't very sociable, but they kept odd hours and had several pitbulls. The house is up for rent again now.

There's one of those Se-Habla-Espanol extended-stay hotels up the street, and we've heard gunshots some evenings.

Yeah, I carry when I'm out grabbing the newspaper now

If I'm leaving the house, it's my carry gun. If not, it's the Sig P245 I keep in the cabinet over the stove, but I make it a point to always have something within arm's reach. Looks like it's time to move agian.

Every time guns

I started my CC in 1969 after Nam. That was an Govt. model 1911. Through the years the 1911 got smaller and lighter untill at age 65 I now pack, depending on the weather, a S&W 637-2 in summer (prespiration you know) or a Colt 1903 in .380 cal. the rest of the year. Both are kept well fed on Corbon JHP's. And I can still remember (2) to the chest-(2) to the head. Living in florida it just don't git no better than that.... Florida Cracker
