We all know that service calibers (i.e., 9mm, 38/357, .40, .45 and so on) are better manstoppers than the weaker, "inferior" calibers (i.e., .32 .380, 9x18 etc). But sometimes, the heart just doesn't listen to the head. You like that Walther pp in 7.65 Browning (aka .32 ACP) just because you like it. You shoot it well. It feels good in your hand. It's cool. It's fun.
When I was younger, I carried a 3" S&W j-frame in .32 Long. Honestly, I just didn't know any better, but it was accurate and I liked it. Up until recently, I carried a SIG p232. I loved that gun b/c it was like someone tailored it for my hand. I still miss my Bulgarian Circle 10 Markarov. Someday, when I get more time to shoot and can justify the "fun money", I plan on getting replacements of each.
What about you? do you have a favorite "inferior caliber" handgun? Tell us about it and why you love it. Pics are welcome.

My Ruger 22/45. It's my favorite for sentimental reasons as it is my first firearm, and the handgun I learned/am learning to shoot on.

My little .25 Beretta Jetfire!

When I was 14, I learnt to shoot using a .25 Star pistol. It is an easy to shoot calibre and doesn't scare off the first time shooter. It has a tremendous amount of sentimental value for me. So I just had to have one in my arsenal...... And now, we hope to teach our daughter to shoot using this pistol:)

My significant other recently inherited a Czech DUO pistol chambered in .25. It was passed down from grandfather to mother and down into her hands, and she loaned it to me for a rudimentary cleaning and function test. I won't stand up for the caliber but this is an impressive quarter bore. It is a well machined pistol with a smooth reassuring heft and very impressive accuracy. With only a line milled along the center of the slide I was easily able to quickly fire all 6 rounds into a 4" group at 12 yards, and through a brass doorknob at 15 yards. I was only at the range for a function test but it will be coming back with me for some real practice!

Like they say, it's better than a pointy stick. If this is all I was able to carry there would be no complaints amount it's short range accuracy and ability to perforate a boogeyman's tender regions.

I like the 7.62 Nagant out of the old Ivan and the .32 ACP out of the Walther PP (not PPK). Both are extremely fast shooters with minimal recoil.

I'd really like to get an old Police Pos. Special in .32-20.

...

My Sig P232 SL 380

Design/looks, are beautiful

Great CCW, for front and back yard duty.. lol

Very accurate, and with single hand grip

Always gets compliments at the range. (the gun, not me.. lol)

My Walther PPK/s, I never shoot or carry it anymore, I only have half a box of ammo for it, it is pretty outdated, just can't bring myself to get rid of it

It's just a cool gun.

9x18 is a service caliber, there are a huge amount of surplus handguns chamber in it as evidence

Well, to be technical about it, .32 ACP, .380, .32 S&W & .32 S&W Long were common service calibers at some point. I guess by "service calibers" I meant "service calibers currently in widespread use" as opposed to "service calibers once in widespread use but now generally considered underpowered, obsolete, and/or limited to Curio & Relic firearms". :)
