What is your favorite snub-nose revolver, and why?
Right now I carry a .38 Taurus 85 in Titanium. I chose it above the others b/c it had the best trigger of any that I tried, it was light weight (15.5 oz) and shot a cheap, reliable cartridge.
It can punish the hand, but its light enough to carry all the time, and it shoots accurately and to point of aim.
So what's your favorite?
Thanks,

David

For pocket carry:
S&W 642. It's light enough to carry in a pocket but not so light that it makes practicing with +p's punishing.

For belt carry:
Ruger SP101. A little heftier than the J frames but the extra weight helps dampen the recoil of +p's or .357's. It's a great all around range/defense snubby.

Just because i like it:
S&W model 36/60 .38 special. What can i say? They're just classics.

I have two favorites -- the Colt Detective Special with 2" barrel, and the Ruger SP 101 with 3".

The DS is really what a concealed snubbie should be. It's suitable for pocket carry, and is a joy to shoot. It's a .38 Special, of course -- but given its weight, a .357 might be a bit too much for this gun.

The Ruger is not quite a pocket gun -- but if you want .357 power, it's the way to go. It's a powerful, effective weapon in a just-right package, small enough to be concealable, heavy enough to handle the .357 round.

Colt Python snubbies cuz they just look so Dang good. :D
Too heavy to CCW though

My Model 19 Smith & Wesson is a Darn fine shooter.
(just not as purty as the Pythons)

For me, it's a tie: I like the old S&W Model 37s and the earlier 637s; I also really like my 11-year-old Taurus stainless Model 85CH.

Ruger SP-101. The recoil with full-power magnums actually feels softer than the recoil of an airweight with +P .38. Good balance of power, size, and weight.

I have a pair of Smith & Wesson 940 revolvers I am fond of. These are Centenial style guns chambered in 9mm parabellum. You still keep velocities over 1000fps. The full moon clips act as speed loaders. A pair balances out each pocket of my London Fog windbreaker nicely.

I also have a Smith 640, model 38 and 637 I like a lot. From my younger days I still have a pair of 60s vintage Colt Detective Specials with factory hammer shrouds. Since these are long out of production and a bit more bulky than the Smiths they have become safe queens. Tim

Ruger sp101 DAO, 2 1/4" bought new , smooth as silk trigger and action and handles magnums well. :) LOve the 3" gp100 but dont consider 3" to be too snubby'ish.
