What is your OC weapon of choice? Why?

Smith & Wesson 681 four inch .357 Magnum. The stainless sights show up very well against most "hoodies" and other dark clothing.

ECS

I normally open carry what every I am carrying for concealed carry. This normally means a Smith k frame 38 or a service sized pistol such as the Beretta 92, the Sig 229 or the M&P 9mm. If I can ever get my custom holsters for my Gp100 back from my friend who "borrowed them" then I might start carrying my GP100 again.

Mainsail, are you a Utilikilt Employee?
No, we stopped there because some friends were in from out of state and he wanted a kilt. His wife is there over my right shoulder, and he's just barely in the picture over my left shoulder, carrying his pants in front of him.

Ahhhh, I saw the storefront and it was the first question to spring to mind.

+1 for having the fortitude to wear what's comfortable too Neighbor.

I'm usually out in the woods somewhere when I OC, so it's a 4" King Cobra for me. I picked it because it's stainless (weather can change quickly here) and .357 is a good all around outdoors cartridge. And most importantly, it fits my hand quite well.

Unfortunately, OC is not yet legal in TX.

When it is, I may be like the Dos Equis guy:

"I don't always OC, but when I do, I OC an N-frame S&W."

I only recently moved to Alaska from TX, and haven't made the choice to start open carrying, even though it's legal.

One reason is, I've almost always put something in the various pockets of my outergarment that I don't want to leave home without, and the outergarment in question conceals my OWB holster just like it did in TX. And unlike TX, it never gets hot enough that I can't wear at least a vest over a T-shirt.

And even if I were to open carry, I'd probably have another firearm concealed somewhere.

Although I don't open carry and likely never will, if I did decide to do so, the weapon of choice would be the Beretta 92. Not only is it a very attractive pistol, it is the biggest gun I have.

I OC a FNP-45. It's big, mean, and I can shoot it well. 14+1 rounds of .45 ACP. :)

When I CC it's IWB with a Walther PPS .40 S&W

*when* I OC (visiting family in Michigan, Kentucky or Nevada) I carry my Colt 1911. It's prettier than my Glock.

Is this a stealth gloat that you can open carry in Alaska? I think so. :cuss: So I'll make this a stealth gloat about my favorite 45.

Putting my fantasy hat on, I'd probably go with my CZ 97B. There are no bears down here, so I picked this one because it is comfortable, easy to shoot, and accurate.

It can be carried cocked & locked, like a 1911, and holds 10 rounds in normal flush-fitting magazines.

I love this gun.

OC is legal in Wisconsin, but I haven't done it so far because I anticipate getting hassled about it. Nice to have the option though if the need were to arise. Now that we're getting CCW, I probably wouldn't choose to OC except under rare circumstances.

My choice of pistol would be the P220 Combat with a TLR-2s, loaded with Winchester Ranger-T 230gr .45 ACP. It's also my HD gun.

If Texas ever gets complete and total freedom, I will OC carry a Colt Defender in 45 ACP. Wish they made that in a 40 S&W, better in short barrels.

But, I am liking the looks of that CZ97B! I love CZ pistols.

I open carry on my own property all the time and it is generally some form of 9mm or .45 acp handgun.
I have several and like both calibers!:D
I would have to say my most commonly carried handgun is a Glock 19.
Lightweight, controllable, accurate enough, reliable, plenty of ammunition on board, enough said.

Should you choose to do so, the way to do it is get several friends with tape recorders and cell phones capable of taking pictures (at least one should be a lawyer) to be lingering around and record what happens.

I only OC in the wilderness. Up to now I have carried either my 6" M19 or my Single Six in a simple leather holster on a gunbelt with reloads in a drop pouch.

I recently aquired a .44Mag SBH and with it's 7.5" barrel I will be using a chest rig when I take it out hunting.

I usually don't unless I'm at the farm and it's hot. Then it's a Glock21sf in a Serpa, it's my house gun also. It can take the briars and bumps, and easily dispatches feral dogs and the occasional 'yote that has decided to migrate here. The Serpa keeps it in it's place when working or moving through the brush. It has enough capacity that I don't carry spare mags, I've got too much else to carry when I'm working there.
