What was your first handgun?

My first one was a German made .38 Special Snubbie made by Arminius. Bought it because it was so cheap. Unfortunately it didn't survive the first 50 rounds of regular .38 Special (not +P) ammo. What a piece of junk. :barf:

First was a Glock G19 purchased about 2 years ago, at the ripe old age of 32 years. Cost me about 5 bills. I still have it and practice with it occasionally.

My wife is very anti, but is aware that I am not. I've always wanted a firearm but never had the means. All I'll say is September 11th was my impetus. I now own 2, saving for #3.

In 1969, after delivering a boat load of papers, I handed my father the money to get me a Ruger MkI. The grins disappeared the moment I picked it up and shot it. They just don't point right for me and I have cussed them ever since. It went away in a trade and I have never missed it.

Astra A-100 in .40. tried to sell it on consignment, but I still have it. Gonna keep it now that I have been able to find decently priced mags for it.

An H&R 9-round .22 revolver with about a 7-inch barrel. I bought it when I was a teenager and sold it a couple of years ago -- with a broken grip and missing rear sight -- for exactly what I paid for it.

I'd say I got my money's worth.

High Standard 9 shot .22 with faux ivory grips. Was given to me by my dad. Loaned it to Mom to kill armadillos that desecrate her flower beds.

First one I ever bought was a used Ruger Single Six, stainless 5.5" .22/.22wmr.

Still have it too.

Smoke

Colt Diamondback .38 bought from a friend when I was 20. Traded it to my dad for his Ruger P85. Traded the P85 towards a NIB Glock 19 when I turned 21. Still have the Glock 19.

Hmmmm....

The first handgun?

Well the Army gave me a 1911 as a personal side arm and that is the first Handgun I ever used.

The first handgun I ever personally bought was a Glock 22 which I still have and used to carry CCW but no longer. I still shoot it (otherwise what's the point of owning it) but prefer my Sig and CZ.

Ruger Standard Model .22 Autoloader. It was the shorter barreled version, like 4", fixed sights.
My dad bought it for me at a gunshow in Columbus Ohio for $50.
I was 9 years old so this would have been around 1970.
My dad had a S&W Model 17 that I shot a lot around the same time. Within a year or two after that I got a High Standard Sentinal when my mother's uncle died along with about two dozen rifles.

First handgun I ever shot was a Luger brought back from the big one by one of our neighbors.

First handgun I ever bought with my own money was a Ruger Old Army black powder revolver because I wasn't old enough to buy a modern cartridge gun. The first cartridge handgun I bought with my own money was a Raven in .25 ACP on my 21st birthday. Within a year I had a half dozen other handguns to keep in company.

That question was easy. The events are fondly remembered. I honestly couldn't tell you the last handgun I bought.

I got a EIG Buffalo Scout cal.22lr / .22mag interchangeable cylinders in '85.
The trigger pull was extremely light. It would fire if you just touched the trigger. I still have it but I never shoot it because of the light trigger.

Colt Double Eagle in 45ACP. Shot very well after I had a Bar-Sto barrel installed. Sold it to pay for car repairs. It was an OK gun, kinda ugly though.

A tiny 5 or 6 shot revolver in .22 short; I think it was German made. I bought it for $25.00 from a guy at work. My father still has it up in Kentucky.

My second handgun was a Ruger Blackhawk in .357, sold sometime in the early '80s for about $100.00. That one I miss.

10 years ago I bought a Glock 19. I still have it but I don't think I'll ever buy another Glock.

I recieved both a 3rd generation Colt Detective Special and a Colt New Frontier 22 with a 9.5" barrel and a 22Magnum cylinder. I traded off the 22SA, but I still own the Colt DS - going on twnety two years now.

I bought a CZ 75B when I was 3 years agao when I was 43. Still have it. I'd never part with it actually.

My first handgun was one my mother brought for me at a gunshow when I was 18. It is a S&W Sigma in .40 that I think is very innaccurate and I think has a bad recoil buffering. I still have but it is collecting dust.
