What was your first handgun?

Smith&Wesson Model 66 .357 Magnum. First PURCHASED was a Glock 22. (It almost ruined me on auto loaders, very problematic). Third was a Ruger P94......showed me the deffintion of reliablility.

My first handgun

It was a model 10 S&W .38Spl. Purchased back in '72. I could't hit anything smaller than a barn door with it. I became discourged with it and sold it and bought a 92F. It was nice back then to be able to purchase without the background check.

A better man would be embarrassed to admit it but it was a Raven .25 with cheesy black grips and ugly nickle finish over thirty years ago.

First, a Colt Diamondback in .22. 1975.
Second, a S&W 6" 27 in 1976.

Still have both.

Titan Snub-nose .38 special. Not sure if they still make these? It had an INDIAN CHEIF logo on the center of the grips.

Almost shot myself with it, but were not getting into that...

Peace,

Ruger Single Six .22

Purchased it shortly after I turned 18...I believe my mom had to go to the gunshop with me..and sign for it..because I wasn't 21.....and she hated guns...but still did it for me. good ole mom

I had that gun for 22 years..and recently sold it to finance a purchase if a .22 pistol for my boys.........

1984. I bought a colt police positive. I was on leave. My dad kept it for me and still has it. He had it re blued and it is very nice. I still ask him when I gave it to him. He says I was drunk at the time and must have forgot. It has become an inside joke. I tell him I cant drink beer with him. Because I might give him my car or dog or something and forget... Come to think of it. I let him borrow a sw 686 about five years ago as well. Have to ask him about that.

My first handgun to shot was a Remington .41 Derringer, Dad still has it.

My first handgun that I owned was a Ruger BlackHawk, I no longer have it.

My first handgun that I bought myself was a Ruger P89, and I still have it.

Model 19

Mine was a Model 19, S&W .357 Mag. Two stupid things I have done in my life is sell that gun, and sell my 1964 T-Bird convertible.:banghead:

I would give anything to have both back.

My first centerfire was a Sig 228 that I got when I was 15. I paid for that one and my dad did the paperwork and kept it in his safe.

Much the same as my story. I gave my dad the money to buy a NIB Glock 19 with money I saved over a two year period mowing lawns/babysitting/yard work.

Taurus PT-908. I was roughly 16 so my dad had to spend my money on it. Damn thing stovepiped alot but I've still got it. Great LOOKING gun though.

Browning Buckmark Challenge, .22lr pistol had it about a year.

Love it, wouldn't trade it for any pistol/rifle in the world.

I picked it up and it felt like I had grown another finger.

I intend to go kill some Evil Popcans of Doom with it
tomorrow.

It does like mini-mags, I tried some cci blazer and it
loved them, so I got two bricks. Stupid crap wouldn't
eject, casing was too thin (If you went to reinsert the
ejected shell you could see casing get scraped away.)

So I had 1000rds I couldn't shoot :fire: so I gave the ammo
to my nephew :p .

First one I fired was my Dad's Ruger Mk1 .22

First one to call my own was a Ruger New Model Super Single Six Convertible .22LR/.22mag at 16.

First one I bought myself was a Ruger KP90 when I was 18.

don't have the P90 anymore, got rid of it for an Ithaca DS Police Special in hard chrome. Didn't need 2 .45's, did need a 12 :D

Ok, I can now officially claim ownership. I got my first one yesterday on the
12th of June '04 and boiled it in water and cleaned it all up after field
stripping it. It's an unissued Bulgarian Makarov, looks great and
can't wait to get it out to the range for some practice.

cheers, ab

First handgun was a Smith & Wesson 422 .22lr semi-auto. Shortly after that moved on to a Ruger P-89DC stainless 9mm. Wish I still had them both. Lessons learned in life... Never sell a gun! I have a couple Glocks and new Springfield 1911 Stainless Loaded model now but allways wish I still had all the guns that came and went before them.
Have a good one,
H2R

S&W 422 in .22LR . I bought it the day I was old enough to legally do so. I used a little "birthday money" drove down to "the river" :D and shot a whole box of bulk pack federal lightnings. I gave it away to a friend a few years ago for him to use to train his kids with.
