You come home from the range with your favorite gun in the case in one hand and 1 full clip or speed loader in the other. Now you live in city limits and it's illegal to shoot a gun in city limits. When you walk in the door you see some guy run into the kitchen and grab a knife from the drawer. He has your wifes jewelry hanging out of his pockets and him not realizing your gun is in the case in one hand and ammo in the other he says "I'm going to cut you up" and starts slowly walking toward you? :fire:

BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG...

My current favorite is my STI Trojan 5''
8 rounds with the Wilson mag.

I was illegal for him to rob me in the city limits too....

That's easy. He gets dropped whether he grabbed a knife and threatened to cut me up or not. Because by the time the cops get there, there will be a knife in his hand one way or the other. And of course he threatened to kill me. Two can keep a secret if one is dead.

Bang,bang,bang,bang,bang,bang,bang,bang,bang,bang

(sound of clip dropping, new clip sliding into place, and slide being racked) BANG,BANG,BANG,BANG,BANG,BANG,BANG,BANG,BANG,BANG.

Let's see, the BG is in the room with you, your gun is unloaded and cased? I think it's time to smack the BG with the case as hard as you can while moving for a better position or weapon.

You all are kidding yourselves if you think you're going to uncase and load your handgun before the BG cuts you. Most people would have a hard time drawing a loaded gun in time to engage the BG at room distance.

Ever heard of the Tueller drill?

Whatever I did, the municpal charge of discharging a firearm in the city limits wouldn't factor into it. I'd gladly pay the small fine Illinois municipalties are permitted to assess in exchange for my life....

I'd tell him to take whatever he wants and then curl up in a fetal position and try to appeal to his humanity.

Alex45ACP,
He could have a Broomhandle Mauser in the case, and then he could load it with a clip.... :p

beerslurpy,

You're not going to move off the line of attack? You're just going to stand and draw? You must be faster then Gene Wilder's charactor in Blazing Saddles :D . Seriously, against an adversary with a knife at room distances, drawing your handgun should be the second thing you do.
