That would be something you need to answer

That would have to be something you would have to answer for yourself. Go to a range were you have a large selection of rental pistols. Get with the manager, explain to him you are at a point of purchasing a 9mm and would like to try out some of his rentals. I am sure you could work out something and let you try out a few of your choices. Some might charge you an hourly fee, a good businessman may let you try them for free if you purchase from his store.

It is the Glock 19. There is no 9mm better. At least that's what I think. Gaston almost came up with perfection. Only math is more perfect than the 19.

I agree with the others that have pointed out that "best" is subjective. However, to me, the Beretta Billennium is the hands-down "best" 9mm ever built. Followed by the Beretta Steel I, and then followed by the Beretta 92 Stock. All of these have the Brigadier slide, which is heavier than the standard 92 slide, and they all have a frame-mounted safety.

Fit, finish, weight, balance, and smoothness of the action in these guns are unmatched, in my opinion, with the Billennium leading the pack.

Now, I'd never use any of these as my CCW gun, for example, so there are certainly various "Best" themes we could go down and I would not list these guns on them.

But for a general "best" 9mm: Beretta Billennium.

My favorites:
1. Hi Power
2. Glock 19
3. CZ75

Maybe the best ever:
Sig P220

The best value:
CZ75

The nicest:
Hi Power

The coolest:
Glock 18 with a 33 rd magazine

The best all around:
Glock 19

Browning Hi Power, most any model, but I prefer the older T-Series, I seem to be able to sight better with it and it feels really comfortable.

I have never shot a Sig 210 but would really like to shoot one as a comparison to the BHP, I hear the Sig210 is the Tops for 9MM......

I am also wanting to try the Glock 17, it also feels rght and the sighting seems good....

regards

I haven't had enough 9mm's to make a truely worthwhile comparison. I have had a Ruger P85, which was not accurate at all, A Ruger KP89DC, which was fairly accurate, And now own a FN Hi-Power, which is so way more accurate than the prior two it is no comparison. My FN was about 550 NIB.

What is the lamest thread ever made? That is a better and more original thread. These threads should be banned and so should anyone stupid enough to respond to them.

I love 9mms but I can't say which is "best". Like others have said, best for what? If I were to take a 9mm as a self defense gun, I would choose my Beretta 92fs. For CCW, my Kahr K-9. FOr traget shooting it would be something else and so on.

The best 9mm?

1930's Commercial Luger imports to US of A.

1940's No fancy quality, just war production. Maybe a pre-war P.38 or HP Walther.

1950's The commercial blue Browning HP.

1960's SIG P-210

1970's SIG Luger produced in Switzerland.

1980's - Present. No much worth writing home about, outside of a self defense sidearm which goes Bang everytime you pull the trigger. Maybe a S&W custom shop 952? But , I haven't seen one in the shops.

Who thinks we lost a bit of the Art when we demanded cheap and reliable.

9mm is my favorite pistol caliber, and I've owned/shot many. For me, the S&W 3913 has been the "best." It shoots like a full-size and carries like a mouse gun. I just plain like the darn thing.
