Best buy

RIA in 38 Super for $425 and a 9mm barrel and link for $60.

You can shoot both rounds with the same mags.

If you spend the time and buff out the ramp and so on this is a great deal!!

I'm talking about the defensive handgun that is under-priced for whatever reason (such as the Sigma perhaps). New or used.

What do you consider to be the best buy out there today?
IMHO the 3rd gen. smith & wesson 5906,3914 & 3913 are hard to beat.I also like my beretta 85 fs cheetah, beretta 92 inox and kahr PM9.To many choices,LOL.

I just purchased an EAA EZ40, made by Zastava of Serbia, in the former Yugoslavia. Sig-like in appearance, with ambidextrous de-cocker and mag release. The gun is one nice looking piece, inside and out. Good trigger, tight lock-up, and is the service arm, in 9x19, for the Serbian Army. Zastava has been in business since the mid-1800s.

Price? $360.00.

Spare mags are easily available, and cost about as much as other high-cap ones around.:)

1. Used gun, like a police trade-in, if you know how to inspect it for signs of malfunction or amateur gunsmithing.

2. A gun without mystique or fan-boys to drive up the price. Used Glocks sell for less than used SIG P210s, and used Sigmas sell for even less--at my LGS, they sell for less than used Model 10s.

I agree that THE best buy are USED police trade in's.

They are used but still function as they were intended = they shoot bullets at threats and CHEAPER to buy than any new gun.

I know that people love their own guns, but how is a new [fill in the blank expensive top company manufacturer] a "best buy" ? Or, am I reading the question wrong? But, by "best buy" I figured that the OP was asking for great guns at bargain prices.

I agree that used police guns can be a great buy.

Bersa Thunder 380 and Bersa UC Pro in 9mm, 40 S@W, and 45 ACP.

These guns eat everything they are fed without jamming up.

To me, a "best buy" is getting the most gun for the least money. It doesn't mean cheap (as in inexpensive). It means it's a reliable gun with the features you want and shoots accurately. I chose the CZ75 series because (to me) it is the best handling, shooting and reliable gun out there in an "affordable" price range. To me, it is more accurate than guns costing 2x as much (value) and is time proven reliable as well as being one of the least "complained" about guns on boards like this one. If you want cheap the get a Hi Point. If you want every feature available on a handgun then get a 1911 race gun. If you want the best bang for the buck the get ( ) fill in the blank. My answer is the CZ75 series. As others have stated, there are many options out there.

I'll vote for the used K-frame revolvers. Nothing better & stupid cheap.

Great guns, but not cheap anymore. Used 66's are sellijng for $600+ around here.

I do see used S&W 5906's at very good prices.

On a new gun I see new Ruger P-95's selling for as little as $279 in blue, stainless for $319. On a tight budget this is the way I'd go.

Yup, you are right. There is more than one way to look at it.

I'll have to take another look at those CZ guns. They seem to have a lot of fans. Same with Bersa.

I'll say again, however. The BEST gun for the money right now is the P250. I paid $359 for mine, and it is an AWESOME gun.

Got a brand new P95 for $265 a couple years ago, think they can still be gotten for under 3 bills. Incredible value in my book.
