My primary is a Glock with an X200 on it. My bed is a pier group with several hidden compartments in it, and it lives there. It is very quick to get to, and unless you had the same furniture, you wouldn't know it's there.
My secondary is a Mossy 500 with a Surefire Integrated Weaponlight, kept in the master closet.
My girls are 2 months and 2 years. At the first sign of trouble, I'll wind up carrying them into the master closet, which is why my primary is a handgun. Once all the girls are safely in the closet, the Mossy comes out.
We just had our house built and I'm in the process of hardening the closet. It won't be a bank vault, but it will at least be somewhat more resistant than it is. It also has a land line and it's where our cells go for the night.
