Come to think of it, I loaded and fired a bunch of those totally plastic Herret's 12 gauge shot shells. Completely blue plastic, transparent.
I don't know if you guys would classify those as "exotic," but they were funny to look at, loaded. Only metal in them was the 209 primers and the shot.
I guess other companies have made them on and off, but I reckon they're rare.
It struck me that the manufacturing process would be really simple and cheap, unlike where you have to marry a plastic tube to a brass base in reg'lar shells.
I tell ya true, if Herret and Aguila had ever got together, we'd have some significant advances in firearms technology. Both companies are/were extremely creative.
