Ruger Mk1 Target 6&7/8 inch tapered barrel or Mk 2 5.5 inch bull barrel. I haven't come across the right Colt woodsman yet.

I voted semi-auto, only because I've never owned or even shot a .22 revolver. However, I can't say much about the .22 semi-autos that I've owned.

I've owned two spoiled brat P-22's  that would work only if fed CCI Mini-Mags or CCI Stingers. If I fed them anything else, they'd jam. :uhoh:

One Ruger MkII was a mean little beast when trying to do a take-down for cleaning. It wore out it's welcome after trying for a half hour to separate the barrel from the frame. Oh, I was never able to separate the frame/barrel for a good cleaning. It went bye-bye.

The best .22 semi-auto I owned was a Ruger MkIII Competition Target model. I wish I had it back. :(

I would have given you $25 for that piece of junk.
I think I'll start buying all these impossible-to-clean Ruger rimfire pistols, anyone else frustrated enough to dump theirs?

Hello friends and neighbors // I've had this quite a while, Stoger Luger .22lr, 11+1. The Aluminum frame made it perfect for backpacking and at $65.00 with a holster and some ammo I could not do better.

12 shots / 4 inch target / 15 feet / As fast as possible (I always start out low left)

Still running strong with only the safety ball replaced. It loves Federal Bulk and so do I. The friend I bought it from made the grips. When they got loose I sprayed some plastic kote on the back to give them some stick, so I should count that as a repair too. (I still have the original grips but these feel great)

Almost every person I introduced to handgun shooting started with this 4" .22 and a single round ... can't put a price on that.

I even used it to qualify for my CWP, size mattered but not caliber. I've been shooting this Stoger Luger for over 25 years, hard to beat that much muscle memory.

The only other .22 handguns I own are revolvers an H&R Sidekick 4", 9shot, nickle and a S&W 617 6", 10 shot.
The adjustable trigger and the memories keep the Stoger Luger at the top of my "short" favorite .22 handgun list.

I'll up that bid to $30 and include a Christmas card for the next 5 years!

I like my old High Standard 'Sport King' with it's Fastfire sight for bull's eye competition and general .22 plinking and practice. A Taurus P22 lives in my pocket as a New York reload.

I got rid of both of my hard to clean and re-assemble Ruger Mark IIs and got a Browning Buckmark. :)

Lorcin .22 handgun

hey i have a lorcin .22 hand gun and i adore this gun its super small and a has a nice kick to it.

I have a D/A revolver and a semi auto. I learned on a revolver and its still my favorite. My handguns are even split...two D/A revolvers and two semi auto guns. favorites aside...I like to shoot 'em all!

Mark.

Couldn't resist. What's not to love about all the .22's here. This is my personal favorite. Vintage 1978.

ok now... how did Racinbob and KMO
BOTH
get into MY gun safe ????

(three in a row of these, and I am going to have to open it up, and see what's left)

Currently, it is the Colt Woodsman.

Why?
Because Sheriff Bo Tully, Blight County Idaho, carried one as back up in The Blight Way, and it was the murder weapon in Avalanche.

Patrick F. McManus trumps current video games for reasons to pick a gun - always.

*smile*

Ruger Mark III target model. Also have Sig Mosquito that jams every other shot and a Walther P22 that jams every fourth shot or less. The Ruger is way dependable and never jams.

I like my Phoenix 22a because its inexpensive, pocket sized, accurate and has been very reliable.

I bought my used Stoeger .22lr Luger a couple of years ago. It's a lot of fun and functions well.

I have a Ruger MKII Govt Target. Its like rifle. I can hit nickels at 25 yards all day.

Owned and no longer have (for various reasons), in no particular order:

High Standard 22 magnum revolver
Ruger MK II Competition Target Model SS
Walther (S&W) P22
High Standard Double Nine 22lr
Browning Buckmark UDX
Ruger MK II Government Target Model, blue
H&R 999 Sportsman

Bought almost new and will never get rid of, I take this every time I go shooting! and shoot 100 rounds minimum, period.

S&W 41 7"
