I already have a XD9 Service model, so I'm definitly looking for a full size all metal frame. I've narrowed it down to the following three:

CZ 75B
Browning Hi Power
Beretta 92fs

This is going to be one hell of a choice to make between the three. Just curious as to which one you guys would buy first. (assuming that you don't own any of them already).

CZ. No question. XD is awesome, so you clearly have good taste. Keep it up, and join the CZ addicts club. Once you get one, it'll multiply. For CCW, try the new RAMI-P. It's really nice.

Can't go wrong with BHP, either.

I'm not a big fan of the 92FS, personally.

BHP's are great guns. I voted CZ 75 because I don't have one. The only one I have no interest in is the Beretta. Way to bulky for a 9MM.

after this weekend

I recommend the Colt Series 70 in 9mm :)

Depends on which fits your hand best. I love the feel of the BHP until I shoot it. I love the feel of the CZ and the Beretta but the CZ feels just ... best, and I am less turned on by some things I know about the Beretta when it is used real hard. Not that most of the world uses them that hard, or that they can't be fixed when they are, just... doesn't give the warm fuzzies. Plus, the slide-mounted safety is real easy to turn on accidentally when sling-shotting the slide to close it, or when clearing a malfunction. Not common, but malfs could happen!

Personally, I prefer frame mounted safeties, and your other two choices have that. Plus, B/FN HP and CZ are both capable of carry cocked/locked. That's how the HP should be carried, and if you get a single-action CZ, it should be carried that way, too.

Some folks spend a lot of time and money customizing an HP to get it how they want. They want a beavertail added to keep the hammer from biting them, the trigger slicked up, the magazine safety removed, a few sharp edges rounded off. I looked at what I would want to do to an HP "eventually", and decided that since the CZ comes that way, feels better to begin with, and costs less out of the box, it was a no-brainer.

YMMV.

of your 3 options, i have owned berettas, have an israeli CZ clone, and never had a BHP. again, of your 3 options, i'm gonna say the CZ,then the beretta, and last the BHP. the browning's last on my list because i was never very impressed with those i've fired or handled, though i must admit, i've still always wanted one.:D

Hi-Power, followed closely by the CZ, though I would also look at the AR-24, which is basically a CZ with better styling and forged parts.

Never shot a BHP, so I won't comment on it. Own a 92fs, and have shot a few CZ's. Both are reliable guns. Best thing to do is shoot one, and see how you like it.

I once owned a Beretta 92FS. Got it used at a great price. Couldn't keep it on the paper at 25 yards. Suddenly it didn't seem like such a great deal. :( I've read a couple of posts in this forum about the 92FS that basically state the same experience. About the same time, a buddy of mine picked up a Beretta 85 in .380. Neither one of us could keep it on paper either. :cuss: We both sold them off. I bought a SIG 228 in 9mm and have been very happy with it. :)
