Which auto loader has the worst trigger?

Do out of production models count?

I have an AMT .380 Backup which possibly could be carried safely in a pocket with keys, with the safety off.

(This is not a serious suggestion, of course. Pocket carry without a holster is asking for an ND, even if the pistol does have a 12# trigger pull... :) )

I wondered when the AMT would come up. :D I've read about the miserable trigger in the zines 20 years back. They made a DAO version that was even worse from what I've read.

Another thing I forgot to mention about that Grendel P12 trigger, I don't have particularly fat fingers and I had to cut away some plastic on the trigger guard to get space for the thing to reset. Practically have to take your finger OFF the trigger for it to reset. That trigger REALLY sux and the gun isn't that accurate to boot. Neat concept at the time, but execution lacked a bit.

My sigma .40 was so bad I got rid of it. Felt like I was trying to lift something buried in gravel. On the flip side, I had an old Llama 1911 clone .380 that had such a light trigger when it was cocked that it would shoot if you thought the word trigger.

Both of those hit the ad bulletin muy pronto.

Yeah, I will have to agree with the double action pull of the P64. It is MORE than horrendous.

P64 has a pretty strong DA pull. Then the single action pull is super light...kinda throws you off a bit.

The one DA pull I've felt that is harder the P64 is the 1895 Nagant revolver.

1895 Russian Mosin...the trigger pulls harder than the bullet hits

COP 357 (derringer) and thats if, in one stroke, you can pull the trigger

I love my AMT backup. Pounds the hand and the grip safety will pinch the web of your thumb if you aren't careful. Very smooth trigger on mine though. But I did fully strip the thing and clean out all the internal parts. Found part of a tooth under the internal hammer which was...interesting.

Worst trigger on a modern, production pistol? Glock gets my vote. I have no idea how people can rant and rave about such a crappy firearm.

the P64 has got my vote, although the USP 45 I have is pretty bad in double action.
The P64 is literally unuseable for me in DA. Every story I've read describing how bad it is true and none are exaggerated.

I had a Ruger P series that literally you had use both index fingers to fire it, they fixed it, but it was godawful.

My "Sigma" has a 8lb trigger that is pretty smooth, just a little heavier than my M&P.

Sent from my Tesla coil

There is no such handgun as a 1895 Mosin....but I agree with your assessment of the trigger on a NAGANT.

P64 users that hate the trigger, it's an 8 dollar fix, about. However, it doesn't fix the DA/SA transition which can often sound like a full auto. I like mine, though, and after the fix, I CAN hit with it DA. :D Wolff needs to offer a stiffer trigger return spring. That would fix the transition. After the hammer spring change, the SA trigger is ridiculously light.

I once had a CZ-75 that had the most inconsistent single action trigger pull I've ever experienced. Sometimes catchy, sometimes long and creepy, sometimes "woah, didn't mean for that to go off"... Even after weeks of use and dry-firing it never improved. So in my book that particular CZ-75 gets my vote...

+1 on the P-11
I will say though, after having the kel-tec for a couple years and firing/dry firing several thousand times, when I shoot my buddies revolver in DA it feels like its in SA to me.

I friend bought a cobra 380,I never heard of it. When I tried it I thought the safty was on.Made me happy with the firearms I have.He try some of mine and he's selling that POS

The CZ's trigger New out of the box are bad however they are the easiest pistol to perform a trigger job on that I have ever worked on and you can go expensive or just modify factory parts to get there. My P01 decocker trigger is 3lbs even S/A and 7 even DA on this pistol I went the expensive route through Cajun Gun works. On my standard CZ75B I used only factory parts and ended up with a trigger that feels almost exactly the same as the P01.
