I mostly carry revolvers, but autos can be useful:
1. P229R DAK; I have this one. I currently must carry a double-column .40 at work, and of the authorized choices available to me in 2004, this is the one I shot best, prompting me to switch from .40 Glocks. Unfortunately, the high bore axis, and snappy .40 recoil, have combined into a perfect storm, making this an increasingly painful gun regarding cumulative recoil, so it might not remain my most-carried auto-pistol. I am exploring my options to replace this one, which will knock it off this list.
2. Les Baer full-sized 1911, mine being the Thunder Ranch Special. The junction of the trigger guard and front strap are perfectly sculpted for me, allowing the weapon to sit lower in my hand than original-design 1911-spec frames. This is the autopistol that I really love! I started handgunning in 1982 or 1983 with a 1911, and in my old age, a 1911 might be my only remaining autopistol.
3. Seecamp LWS-32; I have one. This is a special-occasion weapon, when I want or need a very small, flat pistol.
4. Glock G17; I have one. This is just a tool for the toolbox. Strictly utilitarian, it
does not produce a warm feeling in my hands, and its clumsy shape and weird trigger pull limit its accuracy in my hands, but it is a reliable platform. If my chief will finally allow 9mm as an alternative duty pistol cartridge, I will tote this one in the duty rig, instead of the SIG, to try to preserve the health of my formerly stronger wrist.
5. TBA. Perhaps, if I start toting the G17 at work, a G26 will fill this spot.
