My wife likes shooting my BHP and her S&W 5904 best, and she's a better shot than me with either one.

A 63' E. German Makarov for purse carry, Or a Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact 9mm for the vehicle. She really likes to shoot my Tanfoglio series 88 TA90 9mm but it is rather big

My wife's favorite is the Kahr P9
2nd place is S&W CS 9

I know what you mean; my wife also prefers a kahr 9mm, but my mistress likes .45s...

 :p

(just kidding... carry on...)

xd in .40

My wife really likes to shoot the xd in .40 s&w. She also likes the .300 win mag, but last time she didn't have it very tight and it kinda hurt.:uhoh:

...

The wife shoots both an SA EMP SAO 9mm 1911 9+1 or the Sig P229R CT 9mm.

She likes the SAO, locked and cocked best, but wants a laser grip like on the Sig.. DA/SA

No such grips (yet) as far as I know..

My daughter who is now 22 years old 4'11" 100+lbs chose a Colt Government model 1911 in 45acp for herself from all the handguns in my collection. So for her 21st birthday I got her a new Colt Combat Elite. Already sent it in and got the Recall repair done. I set it up for her with very narrow Navirex Grips and a Short Colt trigger I had taken off one of my 2 Colt Gunsite pistols, Government models of course.

That beauty hasn't missed a lick. Shoots every thing my daughter and I have fired through it. She enjoy's it and handles it well. I started her shooting at about the age of 8, with a Ruger MK II. Apparently she was paying attention.

She told me a story about going to the range up at Rio a few months ago. She and a friend of hers were there, and some guys about her age were right next to them. They were shooting a high capacity pistol according to my daughter, teased my daughter abit.

She then took out her Colt Combat Elite. They shut up, and then she proceeded to knock the center out of the target.

We will not discuss her carbine with the red dot.

Don't mess with daddy's little girl. Her bite IS worse than her bark.

Go figure.

After graduating from Jeff Cooper's Gunsite with an Expert certificate (1978) my wife competed with and carried one model of 1911 or another for years. After she quite competition and stopped shooting as much she felt she wasn't staying current on Condition One carry and switched to a Glock 23. The last few years she has been busy with other things and doesn't shoot much at all. She went with a Glock 19 for the increased capacity and control. Not shooting a lot she wants to be able to deliver a lot of rounds quickly and the G19 does that better for her than anything else she's tried.

I have a female friend (not girlfriend) who's new to shooting and she's fallen in love with my old Model 10, which now owns. I was a bit reluctant to sell but she just smiled so much when she found something she could use well. I have a 64-3 on the way to me but, until it comes, I'm .38SPL-less. I feel kind of at a loss without a K-frame in the house.

It was only her 2nd time at the range and she was hitting an old motorcycle helmet on a stick from at least 50 feet away. Not too shabby stand-up revolver shooting for a total rookie. She tried some semi-autos but it got a wee bit wold & over-enthusiastic on the trigger so I steered her towards the S&W. She's found her comfort zone.

She's also pretty decent with a Marlin 60, which she pried loose from me as well. In the woods, she could feed herself now, if necessary.

I like taking rookies. I have never gone shooting with a newbie to have them dislike the experience. Everyone I've taken has had a ball and wants to go again. And, a bonus, this one didn't hesitate to buy her own gun and ammo! She's even joined this forum.

Note: I've noticed that newbies have taken a shine to certain guns in particular. They've liked my Makarov, Star MOD 30MI and, of course, the Model 10. If anyone's trying to find something for a new shooter, go K-frame. There should be at least one around somewhere to use for a try-out.

The wife has a Ruger LCP and wants a Charter Arms Pink Lady...and a Taurus Judge...and a Micro-Eagle...you get the idea. She can outshoot me with anything.

My wife carries a Kel Tec P32 in town, and a Sig P239 9mm when we go hiking/camping. The P32 is the only thing she can CC on her body. The P239 is only carried openly. She shoots my Glocks pretty well, but doesn't prefer them.

She loves them both for their intended purposes, and they have both been utterly reliable... makes me love 'em too.

Wife loves and carries her Bersa Thunder 380. Actually we jsut returned from the range, I almost could not keep up on loading the mag. She fired around 250 rounds. She loves it.

Bersa Thunder .380 and Kel-tec P3AT (both obviously .380ACP).

I've tried to get her to shoot 9mm and .40S&W... she doesn't like the 40, doesn't mind the 9mm, but loves the .380.... and is a killer shot. ragged holes at anything between her and 20 feet.
