Don't consider fyre-arms sexy but the Finnish M39 was generally the better shooter of the two. Better barrel, better fitting and some free floating.

I keep kicking myself in the arse for not buying them when they were $79.95 at Big5.

I couldn't disagree with you more. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so personally and absolutely subjective. Upon beholding any and all of my old battle rifles, they are all attractive and appealing in each of their own special and unique ways. And especially so if I know their "story". Even this scarred old relic, my Royal Tiger Ethiopian Carcano "find", which keyholes each and every shot, and was found decorated by its last user with thumbtacks arranged in a design on the stock (since removed, and I wish I knew that story!!), has a place of honor hanging up on the wall above my office desk:

You don't have to justify your opinion (I could say "affliction" ) to me. I understand completely why some people are attracted to them. They just don't flip my particular switch.

I had a New England Westinghouse 91/30 that would shoot into an inch at a hundred. Hard to believe that a Finnish Mosin would do much better.

I was just fondling my 91/30 today. It’s a very nice gun. I just wanted to take it to the range and put 50 rounds through it.

Is my CZ 527 better finished, more accurate, with a better trigger? Absolutely. But by milsurp standards the Mosin is great.

My 28/30 is awe inspiring too, but more for the history, less for the sheer quality. It’s a great gun but it’s heavy compared to the 91/30, which was a respectable enough update that even the Finns typically didn’t change much when they captured and reissued them.

I don't find any Mosins particularly attractive, so whichever has one of those beautiful mottled arctic birch stocks.

I have always like the overall look of the M39 better than the 91/30.

But the 91/30's have sexier tattoos...

LOL I guess the "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" thing applies to all manner of stuff. There are a lot of guns that I admire as machines, admire the design, admire the build quality, admire the functionality, etc. Guns like the Browning Auto 5 and other JMB designs, pre-lock S&W revolvers, Mauser-platform rifles, US Mil Surp rifles and such. No offense intended to anyone who does, but I'm not seeing any of the Mosin guns in that group.
