As I said in another post... I like to use Big magnification on .22's.
Some people say it's not necessary to use big magnification, but you can see the bullet trace in bright sunlight and you can almost always see the bullet splash at target.
I have a 2.5-10X50, 2.5-10X44, 3-12X50(my squirrel getter) and a 6-25X56 all on .22's.
