Who has ordered from SAMCO? Somewhat urgent

So ive been planning on placing an order at SAMCO from a gun shop tomarrow and ive been reading that they take forever to ship and the quality isnt the best(i was thinking of ordering the Special select condition) is this everyones experience? Should i wait until AIM gets them back in stock? Or another company? Or am i worring for nothing?

Like i said i was thinking of ordering tomarrow so if you guys could get back to me soon id really appreciate it.

I've ordered ammo from them

I live in CA and it took a while for the order to show up but I didn't think it was excessive.

My one experience with SAMCO was not that good. Be clear though that this was only one experience.

I ordered a M38 Swede from them...it was listed as VG-EXC condition with hairline crack in the stock. I think they were selling them for around $300 then. When it came, it was barely in GOOD condition (I have a lot of mil-surps and am accustomed to what they should be like). Maybe 50% finish, wood was extremely ratty, the crack may have been hairline at one time but you could slip a stack of 5 business cards on edge into it now.

I called and asked for a return. There was a language barrier (e.g., Spanish to my Midwestern English) with the person I spoke to on the phone so it was difficult to tell if they were resisting taking it back or if they just couldn't understand. They said it was accurately described. I differed with that opinion.

Finally they agreed to take it back but they did not offer to pay shipping. I will not be doing business with them again (to their loss as I buy 8-12 guns a year).

AIM has always treated me right...and the person taking my order often calls me "Honey".

I ordered my K31 from Samco, and it came in a timely manner and was in as-good or better shape than I anticipated.

The CS rep does not inspire confidence. But that's ok, as long as the stuff comes in looking good.

Iamkris, I sure hope that it's Linda taking your orders, 'cause I've never seen another female answer a phone there! AIM is a top notch company to deal with. No experiences with SAMCO, at least directly.

When I called I got some chick named Abda. I called because it kinda took a long time, but I came to find out that it had allready showed up at the shop and the shop had forgoten to notify me. I don't know how long it was allready there waiting for me so...

I got what I ordered in the condition I had ordered it and was happy with my purchase. This was about two years ago though.
