JMOfartO:
My favorite cc pistol of choice has always been a single stack 9mm..
The two I find I liked the best are the HK P7, and altho it's a bit heavy it is absolutely top quality, absolutely reliable, extremely accurate, and about as safe for cc as a loaded firearm can be.
A bit lighter, offering the same qualities, with the exception of outstanding accuracy (self defense accuracy accuracy is fine, just not up to HK P7 standards) is the 3rd generation Smith & Wesson 3913, or 3913LS. The LS on has an external safety on the left side, so is a tad thinner than the 3913 which has ambi external safeties.
Each of us has our own requirements in a firearm used for personal defense, and at the top of MY list is absolute RELIABILITY. (Or as close to it as any firearm made by man can be).
I find the HK P7 & S&W 3913 series of pistols to meet that requirement to the extent I simply never give that consideration a 2nd thought. Both pistols are reliable, accurate, reasonably light, thin, easy to cc..
I know HK P7's aren't made any more, but for that fact neither are 3rd generation Smiths.. But the P7 is built like a tank of very high quality materials, and simply never seems to break. The Smiths are the same way, and come with a lifetime warranty anyway.
Another choice I thought I might like is the Walther PPS, but the two I had were iffy as to reliability, and I'm a dedicated TDA guy, and the everlite Glocklike trigger of the PPS was scary to me. (My problem, not a fault of the firearm as many people prefer that type trigger).
You pays you money and takes your choice, but I've quit looking..
Just personal opinion, no offense to contrary opinions.
Best Wishes,
Jesse
