Why DAO only for Desert Micro Mini in .380?

Now in layman's terms what does blowback mean and the difference between that and the Beretta tip up barrel auto?
Doesn't blowback design mean it will kick harder like the PPK I shot and hated to shoot?
If your referring to the Beretta Bobcat it is a blowback also. I had one but didn't keep it very long because it was not reliable, too fat compared to the other pocket guns like the Kel-Tec and I didn't like the Bobcat's trigger at all.

Really? I'm happy with mine after I figured out a better way to grip it without getting cut by the slide. I haven't had any jams.
Buffalo Bore Ammo makes a 75 grain .32ACP rated at 1,150 FPS with a hardened cast lead point.
Magsafe is another hot one too.

The Bobcat and Tomcat are two different Berettas. My Bobcat in .22LR is quirky, too. :scrutiny:
The thing I don't like about the .22 LR cartridge is that it isn't reliable (rimless) like centerfire. Lots of misfires. At least the .25 goes off all the time.

Blow back means that the slid is the only thing that moves when a shot is fired, they usually require heavier slide and stiffer recoil springs than "locked breached" guns A blow back guns barrel is usually mounted directly to the frame. In a locked breach gun the barrel moves backward with the recoil and is "locked" to the slide for a short period of time until it is released and the slide continues back on its own. This "locked" design has the effect of reducing felt recoil (because the length of time of the applied force is extended so the felt force is reduced).

The tomcat is a blow back design. The tip up barrel by its nature is attached to the frame (it doesn't move with the breach/slide when a shot is fired). The result (IMHO) is a bit more muzzle lift due to the blow back action than would be with a locked breach design with the same weight. (My tomcat is in my pocket as I type this). It also may have some additional felt recoil, but the weight of the tomcat compared to the other .32s on the market is either comparable (Guardian, Seecamp (both blowback operations) or compensates for the recoil (as compared the keltec p32 which is a locked breach design).

Wikipedia has a couple of great articles on locked breach or blow back actions.

I have fired thousands and thousands of rounds of CCI Mini Mag and CCI Stinger 22 rounds through my S&W 2213 and have never had a failure to fire.

I have tried less expensive 22 ammo and had occasional misfires. It shows that you do get what you pay for! Use quality 22 ammo and it will work just fine.

There are some nice single action Mini revolvers in .22 LR and .22 Mag very well made by NAA.

Unlike my old .22 beretta DA.

I can carry a .380 round chambered and not have to worry about dropping it.

I'm pretty sensitive to recoil, but don't find the Micro to be any
problem. Nor, is the DAO trigger pull as bad as expected.

Rather light and very smooth on my gun.

I like shooting it more than my old Cz83 in 9 Mak.

I think the ported barrel helps there.

I'll be replacing my 9mm RAMI with a RAMI P in a few days.

The Micro is now my fanny pack gun, or pocket pistol.

I'm now hoping to buy the blued version this Summer.

The first, third and last pic is of a Desert Micro Mini?
What is the cost of this gun?
Since you are considering buying a second Desert Micro Mini, Is it more than a Ruger SP-101 .357 snubbie?
I'm considering buying a second Sp-101 .357 snubbie since I like the first one so much.

FWIW:

The latest catalog of CDNN (2010-2), page 48 offers the Micro Desert Eagle for $389.99 (w/one mag) NIB.

I think shipping is about $20.00, and then you have to pay your local ffl dealer for the transfer. (My ffl dealer charges $25 for such transfers).

I've bought many pistols from CDNN over the past few years, and have never been disappointed the the deals.

Best Wishes,

jesse

Really because at the gun store up here the Desert Micro Mini .380 is $568.:what:
For that amount of $$$ I would rather get another Ruger .357 SP-101 snubbie in stainless or grey finish with wood inserts.:D
