Just wondering everyone's reason for not having their CHL. You can choose more than one.

If you pick "Other", specify.

Edit:

Dangit, I didn't think of the open carry option.

This sounds a little off the wall... Anyway, I have never been arrested and think it is crazy that in order to carry concealed, I have to go and basically get booked into the system... Most likely I am going to do it anyway, but that is why I haven't yet.

I let mine lapse and did not renew it.

I'm a working musician and 90% percent of the places I gig in I cannot carry in due to Texas' 51% law.

I do however keep a loaded pistol in the console of my truck which accompanies me from the house to the car and vice versa, along with a rifle in the truck. I feel acceptably armed.

-> My state, sorry, country and all other neighbouring countries do not trust their citizens.
-> I'm not old enough! : ( (not that age will ever make a difference, though)

I can legally carry a pistol in the glove box of my car without a permit, so I do that for now.

I'm still not 100% for having to ask permission from my state to carry in self defense, so that's another reason I haven't gotten one yet.

That and GA has ridiculous restrictions on CCWs.

My state doesn't trust enfranchised citizens under 21, though I still pay the same taxes, am held to the same legal standard as everyone else, and can vote like everyone else.

But I can't be trusted to drink responsibly or have the means to defend myself in public.

Go figure.

Same here. I don't like the idea of getting booked to be able to let the state ratify a right guaranteed by the consitution.

So, I open carry.

I'm currently waiting on my CCW, I know GA has restrictions for CCW at public gatherings and establishments that serve alcohol for consumption, but I'm curious about what other ridiculous restrictions were in place?

My country doesn't trust its citizens:(:fire::cuss:, except for a few of the Special People (TM). None for the hoi polloi though :fire:.

Due to my work (mental health care), I can't carry at work or in the car. Off duty, I have one in the car legally.

Also, I held back hoping the CHL cost ($140 for 4 years + cost of CHL course) would go down. Didn't happen (Rick Perry needs the money... :barf: ). Plan to take my CHL course next month & apply soon after....

Besides, just because I don't have a gun doesn't mean I'm unarmed OR defenseless... ;)
