XD/XDM Flaws..

I have a feeling this thread has went on a tangent.

Seems like the biggest "XD flaw" is that LEO do not carry more of them.

Wait a minute...the XDM is more expensive than a Glock. Shouldn't a good salesman be badmouthing the cheaper product to get the customer to spend more?

Interesting, my friend on the Department doesn't carry an XD.

There are a lot of problems with the XD design. Some of which were touched on (if exaggerated) in this thread. The Striker system is questionable and the Safety is a big problem.

As Larry says, they are great for going to the dump and shooting rats. But they are not on the level of a Glock or M&P.

I believe they surpass the Glock. That's why a carry one of the four I own every day. I passed up the agency-issued Glock in favor of my XD45c, XD9sc, XD40sc, and XDm 3.8 40c.

Just because they haven't been around as long as Glock doesn't make them sub-standard. And that's exactly why Glock has the lion's share.... They've been around since the 80's and they work. There are other choices these days though. The XD/XDm "flaw" is that it hasn't been around as long as the Glock so as to build a loyal following. In ten years? Maybe...
