It's much cheaper by the foot in industrial quantities, but this 100' wad would be more useful for folks here. If you have a friend who works utilities, ask for it by name. We scrap thousands of feet of it all the time.

If I'm hunting close to civilization. I carry coffee, knife, phone, snacks, spare socks, range finder, and water.
If it's in rougher country. I add a little more food, water, extra thermals, a drag harness, super glue, petroleum jelly, gauze, and a lighter.
First pack is about 10lbs. Second is maybe 20.

What about a first aid kit of some kind?

Weird things happen..

CAT tourniquet and a bandana. You can service most of your medical needs with those two light weight items until you get back to camp

Y'all ever look into the Israeli bandages with the pressure bar?

A good quality CAT, I'd say is worth having. Also, a roll of kerlix gauze and a roll of vet wrap could be good.

I usually wear good boots and cargo pants and carry a pistol. Depending on if I'm blind hunting or if I am night hunting I may just wear a thin t-shirt.

In a backpack and my pockets I carry the following:
water
bug spray
spare mag
game drag/harness
two waterproof tactical flashlights with extra batteries
rangefinder
kindle (gotta be careful with this one)
two predator lights (one to mount on gun, one to point around)
knife

I sometimes carry bait as well if I'm going for hogs.

I need to add a small first aid kit.

Yeah I don’t prefer the Israeli bandages. Many people do though.

I generally go pretty light, the same basics as the OP. I add a thermacell during spring turkey and archery deer, cause Florida. If I am hunting from a ground blind, I will bring my tablet to read some. My backpack is a camelback. Of course, during turkey season I need the vest with all the calls and other do-dads.

I hunt light. Spare change of clothes so i can drive home dry should things get wet afield. My archery or gun supplies are in a small ammo can ( plastic) and my hunting clothes are in a big tub in my Jeep.

Used to hunt about 200 acres w parking about center. So cold or hungry could sneak to the truck and recharge.

Gov ground id take a shoulder bag w snack/ water and few items.

Pistol while bowhunting? Done it. PITA.
Maybe a J frame or LCP.....or LCRX would work. Gotta be light enough to not notice it.

Back aint getting better, a .44 or 1911 is too much. Wearing hunting clothes, double layer....changes mobility and extra stuff has an enhanced negative effect. i cant do backpacks. So have to go light and suffer.

Bottle of water and a grunt call.....proly my main items deer hunting.

My deer spot about 2 miles from a Caseys convenience store.

Biscuits n gravy on way, Mountain Dew quickstart.

Throw a jug of H20 in the back to wash up after field dressing.

Pretty comfy deer hunting. Not complaining.
Did that hardcore sleet n snow, walk miles stuff. Usually just to collect bronchitis.

Kill a lot of stuff when comfy

I hunt about the same distance from what was a Caseys but now is a Penny Pinchers, there is a convenience store closer and a taco stand for lunch, I stop by them all some days.

I wear bibs/jacket if hunting the field or jeans/hoody if stalking the woods.
Fingerless flip mittens or jersey gloves.

I'll take a couple sandwiches and chocolate candy for lunch with a couple bottles of water.
Also hand warmers, phone, folding knife, tp and a sled.

For big game, I travel light. Normally just the rifle, Buck 110, and some cheese crackers. Water is abundant here. Of course, there will be miscellaneous items in my mackinaw pockets. Always have 4 or 5 spare shells for my rifle, and a little pen light just in case I get caught out too far. Some kitchen matches (wrapped in newspaper) tucked into a 45-70 case with a .38 case for a lid. Also tend to save a little of the poly hay twine, about 10 or 15 feet, and roll it up tight and stick it in a coat pocket. Let's not forget the great big safety pin stuck to the inside pocket. It has a dozen uses. That's really about all.

For small game, I travel even lighter. I generally carry a .22 rifle, 50 rounds of ammo, and good pocket knife. The other things are most likely still in my mackinaw pockets if I need them, but I usually don't. I have a home-made squirrel carrier that comes with me, too. If I think I'll be out most of the day, I'll slip a bottle of water in my pocket.

As far as hunting clothes, I usually wear a grey or green shirt, green and brown briar pants, and a grey and black mackinaw coat if its cold. Have a nice old Duxback canvas game vest for when it's warmer. Orange hat during deer season, grey/green cap or grey SK when it isn't. Boots are either lace up Redwings or rubber LaCrosse. I am a traditionalist, I guess, but I like to keep things simple. Over the years I've found that it's not necessarily the arrow, but the Indian, that gets the job done. You can be completely decked out in the latest scent blocker camo, have the latest and greatest gun, ammo, and gear, but if you sound like a team of logging mules coming through the woods, you'll more than likely go home hungry.

Depends on how far I am from the truck and what I'm hunting. The truck is a vertible rolling hardware/sporting goods/party store. Walking for birds generally just water for me and the dog with a pack of sunflower seeds. An all day deer stand and the skys the limit.

I added some "mule tape" to my SxS just in case, it is a woven flat rope that is highly rated and packs easily, I put 2 different sizes coiled up in a Sams M&M container. Yrs ago I bought a plastic sled on clearance that works great to haul a deer, its just heavy duty plastic with a rope handle, I think one could be made to wrap around a backpack.
