Great question Rusty. We have a large home in S Vista and the bedrooms are split (5 of them) We usually have at least one son home with his family and they are all Infantry vets. So we want to have everyone get to a safe room on their side of the house. I anticipated this when we had the house built and we put triple plywood on all four sides of these rooms. We have a big book case next to each door with thick books. (We both retired as teachers so you can imagine the books we have) Our kids and grand kids know that we do not try to clear the room. I have body armor in each of these rooms that I purchased at one of Mas Ayoob's classes and a 20 gauge shotgun in each room.
We have two rescue Sheps (Green Valley Rescue) that will immediately go the the site of a breakin. There was another home invasion in Tucson this morning and one in S Vista last week so this has become a standard crime.
