my garand feels the best. it deposits the perfect amount of 30-06 into my shoulder, and uses the rest to get the next round ready for me.

K31
accurate,
I was shooting a Swede that hitting high, having issues using the sights (it's sporterized)
but WOW what a trigger, shot before I mean to quite a number of times

switched to the K31, WOW what a trigger, not quite the swede, but every time it went boom, a hole appeared right were I was aiming. I was a nice change.

You guys are shooting lot of new rifles! My favorite is an 1866 Trapdoor, 50 Gov't. Or an 1803 Harpers Ferry. Both get used and both are good shooters. I was just given a smaller bored and flatter shooting 1873 Trapdoor, I either need to get used to the sights or get rid of it. I keep overshooting targets with it.

I like the choice of the Russian contract Winchester 1895, never seen one yet.

Springfield Trapdoor, followed by

Mauser M71/84, followed by

M96 Swede...just cause there is not another battle rifle around that can shoot as sweet and straight across the board.

Oops...as far as just plain fun, the little M1 carbine sure spits 'em out nice, so does the AK, and the AR's but there is no challenge with these. Just for spraying.

I'd like to get more experience with the Mosin, or some other milsurps before I give an opinion, but I have used an 03 Springfield. I liked that gun, but the bolt could be a bit of a jerky matter.

toss up between my K31 with PU Scope or my K31. Mosins a sniper rifle, and that's always fun. But the K31 shoots just as well with Irons and with the eject I can usually catch the spent cartridge in the air. Which adds another fun element lol

Three categories: Semi, Bolt action and single shot
1). I love the Garand Fun accurate. This is my first choice. This is followed by my FN-49 (8mm) Next to that is the AG42B(Ljungman) All are fun and accurate. After those, my 1954 Russian SKS. Heavy, well balanced and cheapest to shoot.

2). My first high powered rifle was a K-31 my dad gave me when I was high school. Still have it and shoots great. Also, I love the smooth bot and trigger pull of my M-96 Sweedish Mauser.
3). For single shot, love the Brown Bess, 1756 Second Pattern.
