My vote went to the M1 Garand. You put several no the list that I have...but its an M1!

Really though...I don't like to pick favorites when we're talking about the kids...:D

I've never owned one, but I'd have to say the Garand.

Mosin is fun and cheap. I never had a problem with either of mine.

I really like my Steyr M95/30. During WWI it was used by the Austrian Army and chambered in 8x50R Mannlicher. Many of them were cut down into carbines and rechambered in 8x56R Hungarian during WWII for use by the German Military Police, among others. I love mine, but the 8x56R is hard to find and isn't cheap.

You list two Mosins and no AK and no SKS. Apparently my favorite is the SKS since that's the only one I own.
i agree it would have been very popular on the list. i love the sks.

(i still would have voted for the garand, but our sks's get almost as much trigger time as our m1's. seriously handy little rifles. (i personally prefer the sks to the ak)

How accurate does the M1 have to be, mine shoots 1" groups at 100 yards

I'd like to see an SKS do that.

Who considers AK's to be milsurps?

My favorite is the FN49, but very close second (maybe tied for first ) the M1 carbine, those would be from the ones in my collection, BUT, the one that would top them all in my opinion would be an as issued B.A.R., but I don't see me owning one of those anytime soon.

Why would my Model 1917 have to be an Eddystone? Since I'd prefer another maker, I've chosen the P14.

I picked 98k Mauser, My personal favorite. (Was my first, lost of good memories with it)..... Without sentimental value, a M1 Garand may sneak into the picture.

My 98k is a great shooter, lots of wood chucks and even more soup cans met their end with it.

garand of course but I own an sks and really enjoy shooting it. just couldn't afford the Garrand at the time.

Considering the Mosin-Nagant 91/30 is the only one I own, I had to vote that way. But, I'd love an M1 Garand or a K31 Swiss any day.

My current favorite is my 1891 Argentine engineers carbine. It's a nice shooter, looks great, has that turn of the century craftsmanship and is very handy due to it's short size.

1934 walnut-stocked K31, originally issued to an artillery man. If I want to shoot a milsurp, that's the one I have. I've gone through a few, and I think, unless someone gives me a Garand, that's the one I'm just going to stick with.
