What's your favorite milsurp rifle?

I'm looking to add to my collection so any ideas would be helpful, I'm making this a poll so I'll try to get as many as I can think of in the poll, but if I leave one out be sure to mention it to.

Please no Ak or SKS, I want these to be WWII era or prior guns.

Are those availible I was going to put it down but I didn't think that there was any way to get one and if you did it would be a museum piece, same reason stg 44 and the falscrimjager rifle aren't on the list.

I chose the P17/M1917 .30 cal rifle though it's actually my second favorite. My favorite is not on that long list - a bubba'd 1916 modified M1893 Spanish Mauser. It's a sweet shooting light carbine that with a 7x57 cartridge is fully capable of taking anything in North America.

I picked up my G43 at a gunshow last year. Swapped in a replacement gas piston and all new springs. It's a great gun to take to the range. There are usually a couple on the auction sites although usually at a much higher price than I paid.

M1 Garand, M1 Carbine & 03-A3 & FN49.

If we're allowed to count those rebuilt on civvie recievers, I would include the M14, STG58 & Rhodisian FAL, the HK91 & 94 and M16s & M4s

My list of handguns would include the 1911, BHP and wartime S&W and Colt 45 caliber revolvers.

There are others I like too, but these are my favorites

My favorite one is, hands down, the Mosin Nagant M44. There are more accurate, aesthetic, valuable, historically significant, and finely made military surplus weapons, but the M44 is powerful and reliable and always puts a smile on my face.

the Lee Metford isnt on the list so I voted No1 mkIII, iv been wanting one for awhile but they are hard to find and in good condition are very expensive

I almost bought a lee metford this weekend the guy wanted $1500 for it though so I passed.

Hands down the Mosin Nagant, I chose the Finnish because I prefer the blade sight it has. Main reason the Mosin was chosen by me is because it was my first "big" rifle and is cheap to buy and shoot. Really I'm a fan of any mil surplus though Mausers take a very close second to my Mosins

The M1 Garand has style and was the first real semi-auto battle rifle fielded at the start of the war, with the exception of the Johnson. They are heavy but handle well and soak up the recoil of the 30-06 nicely. Figure in the sights and you have a real winner.

I looked at one of those in gunshop before I moved a couple months ago, and $300 was the cash price, I should of bought it. They seem to be much better built then the russians.

There is no cooler rifle than the M1 Garand, IMO. If you're American it's your duty to own at least one. :D Even as a mechanical puzzle it's fascinating.

I do want a Finn M39 though. *droool*

I love my K31 it's one of the most ergonomic and best shooting Milsurp rifles I've ever owned.

The one I am shooting at any given time. I really like all of my milsurps...........chris3
