I agree it's snappier than 45 ACP or 9mm.

I keep hearing this from Glock owners. It is definitely not true in my XDm. I care barely feel any recoil at all and barrel flip is minimal.

A full-sized steel pistol, such as a 1911 or a CZ.

There is nothing like a big heavy steel pistol to soak up recoil.

I have two, both of them are steel!! A Sig P226 SSE and a Kahr k40!! The Sig shoots the softest but I shoot the Kahr the most! It's a toss up:)

The one I have left is my favorite, and the best used gun deal I ever found; Sig P226

I only own 2 .40's. One is an old Ruger P94 the other is a XD-40. The Ruger seldom gets shot anymore.

Glock 23C
The factory porting reduces muzzle flip and felt recoil.
According to my chrono, the 23C produces about the same velocity as my Glock 27.
Flash varies with ammo, some ammo produces minimal flash.
I've carried the 23C with 180 gr. HST
