Your Last Revolver?

When I'm 80 or 90, if my wrist can still take it, I'll have the 642 in my pj pocket as I shuffle around, and the 13-3 for walking out in the yard and traveling. Pretty much the same as I do now!

If not, I guess I'll do what lots of older folks do and pack my .22. It has a magnum cylinder, so I'd probably load up with that.

If my thumb couldn't take the thumbing back in a hurry, I'd have to use my .22 Ruger Standard auto, or get a S&W 317 or something.

Probably the Ruger GP100 4", in 357, because of effectiveness for a variety of functions, access to parts and repair into the future, ammo availability, and my ability to use that gun. Friends and family can learn to use it easily and it can be intimidating to the unfriendly. This is for a tough times scenario. For a friendlier scenario, I would like to have a last gun that I like in a more personal sense, probably a short barrel, round butt, Smith and Wesson Model 19 or 66. I have had quite a few guns, including semi autos, and have carried guns on duty in the military and as an LEO for 30 years. Nothings feels quite as good as a tuned Model 19 or 66. IMHO

Just put on layaway a

Colt Trooper 38/357 blue and wood grip. for $275

i still owe about $125, im awaiting my paypal transfer. when i get it ITS MINE MWAHAHAH

It is in really good cond with very minor wear.

woobie #1, 38/357 6" S&W model 66, walnut grips of course
been thataway for near (?) 30 years, ain't real likely to change now

When I get too old to get to the range on my own, won't need to CCW nohow, cause all the grandkids already carry CCW anyway
(and I will be so blind they will probably just pull one of my 6" k-17s out of their safe for me, and tell me the SS finish just got dull, and I will probably believe 'em.. could be a whole lot worse, you know !)

My S&W 642, it was my brother's before he passed away and it is now my carry gun. It will be passed to my kids when I am no longer able to use it, or they need it more than me.

You know, when you think about it - a 6" 19 or 66 isn't a bad idea! Rethinking the 'requirement', I considered my great 4" 64 - but I like the ability to tweak the sight to match the ammo - and I don't have a 4" 67 - or 66. But - my first-ever .357 Magnum was this closeout special - a 6" 66-6 - bought from CDNN 9/03 for $350 new - a bargain even then. I fitted the Ahrends grips and HiViz sight before I ever shot it. S&W probably tested it with real Magnums - otherwise, it's never shot them - the hottest round it's seen is a +P 158gr LHPSWC. Great trigger - handles/points like a dream - and that bright front sight is easy for mature eyes to pick up. Sadly, it's been in the back of the safe too long... too many 7/8 shot examples!

Simple answer... lots of plinking ammo... HD-er, too - or woods gun.

One of my .357's for sure, the S&W 66-2 round butt snubnose or Ruger SP101. But then a recent addition is quickly find favor, a 4" Ruger Redhawk.

Got an Iver Johnson .32 S&W "short"
and a 1960's Colt Trooper 357/38sp was a service pistol.

I guess I'd keep my 5 1/2" Bisley Vaquero, but it would scar me emotionally to give up my old "200th Year" .357 Blackhawk.

That's impossible for me to say. Even if I did give an answer now, I'd change it shortly. Hopefully I'll have lots of guns to pass onto someone when I'm gone.

I have a S&W Model 29 that I will not part with. If my son doesn't want it when I die then I hope they bury me with it.

I have a Ruger Redhawk Stainless 7" 1/2 bbl 44mag on layaway ($57 more and it is mine!!)

I cant wate!!! Glad i didnt get the Taurus!

For me it would be the first revolver I got. A nice low mileage S&W 19-3 with 6 inch barrel. It's been the most consistently accurate and best fitting revolver of the lot. Although my new short barrel 66 is knocking at the door. It just hasn't been around long enough to make its bed in the corner yet.

The second least likely wheelguns to go away would be my sequential serial number Uberti 1858 Remington BP clones. WAY too much fun in all respects.

Currently don't have a revolver, but there is a handgun box shaped and handgun box weight box under the tree right now. Maybe the wife bought me the Freedom Arms .454 I have been after, wonder if it is a 6" or 7.5" bbl..... no real strong preference either way.
