How many states can you conceal carry in?

50.

25 if I were just carrying on my state's CPL, which I maintain, since if I have to deploy a handgun in self-defense/defense of another off-duty, I shall do so as a citizen.

Legally, its likely zero, unless you pick and choose certain areas. I can legally carry concealed in every state if the conditions are right. On the flip side, I can't carry in any state if i am in certain areas.
Is it just me, or does this not make sense to anyone else?

As best as I can figure, 37 states.
That is with my home state of Minnesota and non-resident permits for Utah and Florida.

What I find weird is Florida's permit is good for 7 years versus the other two states being issued for five years.

That will make for an interesting up-date next year and then 2 years later? Will find out at my next class.......after all, it is only $.

What we need is Constitutional Carry across the U.S.A. Is it not our right?

(And I like country fried steak with my eggs in the morning too)

I usually leave my state and road trip across several two or three times a year. Hence my interest in a higher level permit with more coverage. The enhanced permit is about a $325 investment for me. Worth it...……..
i have a lockbox for my pistol when traveling through california. they require that and a separate locked storage for the ammo (gets locked in the glovebox). most states have "traveling through" laws, thank goodness.

i keep my concealed carry permit up to date because of this reciprocity deal as arizona does not require a permit to conceal carry.

luck,

I don’t know, I do know I can carry in some I have never been to in all my years.

I also have in my cell phone the telephone number and extension the State police officer I spoke with before entering any and every State I have traveled into with a firearm.

Yep, I live in a constitutional carry state, but maintain permits for travel. I’m two states away from my family. The state that lies in between was not one I could carry in. So I’d have to stop by the border, unload and disarm myself, then rearm once I was through.

This is a better solution.

You beat me to it. The Park Service is real lame about firearms. Check before you go.

Down side would be dropping into the Island with out passing thru New York City. :(
It's an island. Take a boat out of a more gun friendly state and sail right on up. Might be a long voyage out of N.C. since that's probably the nearest coastal state that fits the bill.
Never thought about the places that reciprocate with Ohio. We were late to the party here and some states held that against us for a while. If I got really lost I might end up across state lines, but all my neighbors are cool. I have no desire to be more than 3-4 hours from home.

I also know that there are places within my own State I cannot carry, how does that factor in? Do I need to do a percentage by square foot of places it’s OK? :)

Except you LEO guys I would be very careful about carrying in Hawaii. It is F'ed up here in terms of CC. They are very anti gun here in many ways.

Cubic probably makes more sense when considering habitable space.

34 I believe, counting the constitutional carry states that don't "recognize" my permit but don't need to.

I just have an Illinois resident permit. I've really thought about getting Florida and Arizona non-resident permits, would add a few more. Really, though, we don't travel far so it is somewhat inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.
