Just wanted to ask a random question that crossed my mind.

If you could see the future and knew for an absolute undeniable fact that you would be in a self defense gun fight with one or possibly more armed criminals, what one revolver would you want to carry?

Has to be only one revolver. No semiauto pistols, rifles, multiples, back ups, or any other options outside of those parameters. Please just play along. I am just curious to hear what everyone would choose.

Styx- Your probably going to get a good plethora of answers, Some that don’t want to play along, and some that will.

I’d Say a Moon clip cut cylinder, 7 or 8 shot 357 with the Most potent defense ammo that can be shot accurately in that revolver.

I really like my 44 spl revolvers- Yet A 7 or 8 shot 357 and quick reloading, would Give Formidable double tap ability.

Plus the concussion also will stun the others after you drop the hammer the first time

I Hope This situation dosnt happen to anyone, Yet be prepared as always.

Just my opinion.

Ps - 4” 357 magnum 686 Mountain Gun 7 shot.
My preference… as it’s quick on target and changing to another target. Also provides substantial fire power without being to Bulky to carry.

I chose the best 357 combat magnum on the market and I practice out to 100 y

I started my career with a S&W Model 15, then a Model 64 before transitioning to a Sig 226 which I carried for another 20 years. I would say a 4” K Frame loaded with Buffalo Bore 158 SWC HP. My Model 15 is just so natural and comfortable to me that I would bet my life in it. Muscle memory is just so strong. I would have to get some practice with the reload, that might be a bit rusty.

Going with what I have, Id say either my 4" my 620, or 2.5" 686+ carried AIWB along with a couple of reloads.

I think Id stay with speed loaders too over the moon clips, as I dont know that Id trust the moon clips enough to hold up to realistic daily life.

I just wish Safariland made loaders for the 7 shooters. The HKS work, but they are fidgety and less secure.

S&W Governor loaded with .45 Colt 255grn full wadcutters, with moonclipped .45 Auto Hornady Critical Defense as reloads...

Given a second choice, a Ruger SP101, .357 Magnum, 3” barrel, brass front sight; with 158grn LSWCHP first up and 125grn JHP reloads...

I should have mentioned- Synthetic Moon clips.
I’d feel confident with them as they will not bend and Reloads will be reliable. Ez Moon Clips product

I have some of those EZ clips, they only work/fit in one of my three guns that take the same clips.

You also have to watch which ones you get. They make a couple of versions, and one will dump/not hold the rounds if dropped or rough handled.

I think you would need to vet any of the moon clips you carried, and would need a carrier that would protect them from abuse in daily life.
