Gun nut humor

If you get that creepy feeling when you look at your digital clock in the middle of the night and it reads.....
223
243
308
357
444
458
556.....
....etc

I once memorized highway number 380 by associating it with a cartridge, then later caused problems when I gave someone directions to turn on highway 308. Oops - wrong cartridge!

You might be a gun nut if your chosen password, having to have at least one capital letter and one number, contains "Colt45", or similar.
We used to have to change passwords every 90 days at my last job so I just went down the list of what was in the safe.
I retired before I ran out of "passwords"... ;)

You might be a gun nut if you bought a rifle chambered in .270 Winchester because a buddy who knows you reload gave you 400 rounds of once fired .270 brass... :scrutiny: :uhoh: :oops::oops:

ETA: You might be a gun nut if you strike up a conversation about wheel guns versus bottom feeders with the officer that pulled you over for "failure to come to a complete stop".
And he lets you off with a warning. :D

If as a kid you spent more time reading American Rifleman, Outdoor Life, Guns & Ammo, etc, than you did your school books.
And if you choose barber shops, dentist's and doctor's offices based on the magazine selection in their waiting rooms, avoiding the celebrity worship rags such as People, US, Entertainment Weekly and pick those professionals that have piles of American Rifleman, Outdoor Life, Guns & Ammo, Field and Stream on those waiting room tables... you might just be a gun nut.

If your firearms-buying sprees tend to follow themes such as blued 4" S&W revolvers, stainless 1911s or black SIG P-series pistols and all look alike -- so your wife won't notice these are new and different guns -- you might just be a gun nut. (Caveat: this may only last a few years if you turn your spouse into a gun nut too)

Finding any of those "evil" magazines in a waiting area today would have some mother's organization picketing the place.

Winchester-Western Catalog.jpg

I've mentioned before that when I was growing up, my Mom and Dad sold a few guns through the country store/gas station they owned and operated. This is one of the catalogs they had in that store, and because I spent more time studying it than studying my school books, I graduated high school only by the skin of my teeth.:D

You might be a gun nut if you respond to someone inspecting a handgun asks "how many bullets does that clip hold" with "it's a magazine and it holds 10 rounds."
I was reading a book where one of the characters says, "I already passed out the bullets," referring to distributing ammo. I cringed and thought, "What did you do with the primers, powder and cases?"
