No longer. Had an M4 (M&P) for less than two years. It never 'grew on me' and extra 'gear' never interested me.
The AK bug had already bitten when the M4 was acquired, wanting to give the M4 a chance. The appeal of the AK's reliability, ruggedness, simplicity, and character are hard to describe.
Just discovered the AMD-65 (tanker/para-) variety which has the high-quality Hungarian barrel and receiver: the TGI import, which is stamped "SA 2000 M" under the receiver.
Traded the M4 recently + cash for the TGI AMD with the cold, hammer-forged barrel. No regrets.
**Prijador **expressed the general perspective quite well.
Also, one doesn't need added gear to hit a clay pigeon on a 50 yard berm, until the vision goes downhill. Fun is the goal.
Quite frankly, we (age 61+) could be diagnosed with Parkinson's disease etc, next week. Would tight target groups then matter, at all? Fun...is the only goal.
