32 ACP for defense, FMJs?

30-30,
I have both and the GLOCK is definitely the bulkier gun. They are both short, which is good for the purpose, the GLOCK 42 is harder to hide in my uniform pants, which have short pockets.

I don't personally prefer 32acp pistols for SD, but I do own a half a dozen or so, just for fun. If I "had" to use one for SD, I would choose a powerful FMJ round for reliable feed and penetration. My P32 is very reliable and might be okay for carry. The Beretta Model 100 is an absurdly accurate target pistol.

I had a P32 for about a week. Two trips to the range and five half moon cuts in my forehead. Never had a gun that put every piece of brass in the middle of my forehead and in no way did I want to keep it.

I loaded some .32 ACPs with MBC 100 gr. cast SWCs (Brinnel #12). I had to seat them a little deeper so they would function in the magazine. They all shot fine in my 1903 Colt and my 1910 FN. I didn't check them for penetration yet but the formula for momentun says p(momentum) = mass x velocity. Therefore, they should penetrate better and provide more damage than a 71 gr. FMJ.

I intend to shoot them through a folded-up pair blue jeans in front of a water-filled gallon jug. This won't happen for a week or so but I will post the results.
