What will you be shooting to bring the New Year in?

My poor dog gets so scared. We got her some meds from the veterinarian to calm her down.
This has been on going. Tried everything the vet had to offer and a few other things too, including a "thunder shirt" , Benadryl , putting him in the basement . everything. Sometimes it makes him a little slow motion and drooly but barks just the same . he also barks if a squirrel is within 100 yards of the house, a spider is on the wall or the wind blows. He's an out of control barker - much worse in his old age.

Looks like I won't shoot anything to celebrate New Years. In my previous post the plans were to go plinking on the afternoon of the 31st at a friends range behind his house . But with about 36 degrees F ; a rain / wet snow mix and the range being semi flooded we decided to pursue other interests. No more shooting until 2020. Happy New Year to all and stay safe.

I'll try shoot some video for y'all, it's like a war zone down here come new years......if I'm awake......

We have a neighbor whose standard practice is to discharge weapons at midnight to usher in the New Year. Its been that way for the last 24Yrs, I don't expect it to be any different tonight. They use to set off fireworks on the Fourth of July, but several years ago there was a neighbors barn set on fire from a errant aerial fireworks.

I have been handloading some 10mm rounds the last couple evenings.
If the range is open tomorrow morning, I may welcome 2020 by sending some of them downrange (with some help from my DW CBOB).

Not a damn thing.

I did shoot a 9mm Wilson ACP 1911 that I’m doing a T&E on at the range today.

I’ll be shooting it at next weeks IDPA practice, too.

I'll fire a couple red 7.62x51 tracers they look pretty lighting up the snow.
I have Been drinking straight ice cold mountain dew so I'm not intoxicated.

Shot about 70 .22s at targets early PM.
Helped a friend get a Buckmark going. Pretty experienced in 9mm, she was delighted with its low recoil and accuracy.

I didn't shoot anything, but I heard a LOT of gunfire around. It is funny, I could mostly identify whatever by sound.

A lot of 9mm and .223, along with the occasional shotgun blast or revolver cylinder. Some fireworks too, obviously.

Ammo is cheap - but at a point, even the revelers realize they're just turning money into noise and it all subsided after 30 minutes or so.

lob a few tracers into the hill about 2000 yds., not 200, behind me. Been raining here so no chance of fire:)

The first part was a trip to a snowy windy range yesterday with my buddy to try to sight in his 22-250, a perfect waste of time when the wind was blowing those 40 grain pills all over the target, but the trip was redeemed when his 12 year old son put most of his shots from my 1942 Winchester M1 carbine in the black.
The second part was letting my buddy ring in the new year by light up the night sky with my Brown Bess at midnight. His first experience with a muzzleloader.

Last night I put an Apex trigger in my Walther PPQ.

Not taking it to the range today would be a travesty.
