The furry fandom has some interesting people in it. I once posted on a community about guns, wondering just how much of the people that enjoy furry stuff enjoy firearms, and was surprised at how liberal they were. I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised, since over half the fandom is gay/bi, but the few initial contacts I had coming into it were rather conservative. I suppose I'll have to dig up that post and bookmark it. Most of it was liberal hysteria, but it did lead to the creation of a furry gun community.

Gifted, you made me laugh. Have a karma point. Another if you dig up a link to the thread. ^_^

I also find the saying that the cops are better trained to shoot a joke. Last week a policeman got 17 shots off at kid that was 14 years old that had an SKS and only wounded him twice. I bet a lot of other people could have killed the cop with one or at the most two shots. Makes you wonder about the cops - spray & pray must be their training.

Me: "I want an AK-47"
Girlfriend: "I think you should get one!"

.....O wait, my girlfriend is AWESOME! :p

One bought a couple of her own guns and got a carry permit.

Another wants to buy a handgun and a long gun.

Another has went from anti to rather enjoying the range.

Either I'm persuasive or have smart friends.

i live in mississippi, and believe that the majority of families keep fire arms in their homes, and most keep firearms in their vehicles. honestly, i would be hard pressed to find any of my friends or family that did not. ccw is another story. we have to pay $127.00, and wait four months for a ccw. we also have to get fingerprinted. i think that turns alot of folks that would do it away, just because of the procedures and cost. i ccw, and most folks that know i ccw approve. a few (rare) did not. i asked them "if you got stuck walking in downtown jackson in the middle of the night, would you feel safer if you had the ability to defend yourself ?" most got the point, but a few just said "i'd call 911" or "why would you walk in jackson at night?" some people.

I told my friend/neighbour i got an AK-47 at the gun show. That was over a week ago. I think they stopped talking to us:uhoh:

:D

That's kinda funny, armedpolak.

I only tell folks who I think need to know, for whatever reason, that I carry... everyone that knows me knows that I have guns. That's never been a problem. Re: carry - My immediate family, significant other, and a very select few friends know. A select few (and carefully chosen) people who work at some local places I frequent know. Unfortunately, the vast majority of folks I know couldn't be trusted with (or just don't need to know) that kind of information...

...like neighbors. :D

Cousin Mike,
I think they're not talking to us. I don't know. We havent seen them in over a week. But they never had the problem with me having guns. We talked about it before, and I even offered to take the guy out to the range some time, to which he said he would love to. I even showed him some of my handguns, and he seamed to like it. Then once I got the AK-47, it sort of got quiet on our floor

My three closest friends my age (~20) all know that I'm a shooter, and have either been to the range with me, or want to go. I trust all of them fairly well, and know that they're responsible individuals. Beyond them, though, most of my friends either don't know, or just know that I go to the range on occasion. I've always considered it prudent to try not to mention anything about firearms to someone whose maturity and/or political values I don't know. So far, I've yet to have anyone try to tell me how bad guns are or anything similar. Partly luck, but also probably because I'm pretty careful about what I say.
