I got something i`ve been looking for . It`s from Knight=Hale and it`s called
"The Beacon."
Anybody who`s ever gotten off track going to a blind,tree-stand, what ever in the dark of night will appreciate this puppy.
Has a red light that can be activated from up to 100 yds away by a garage door opener type remote. Hang it from a branch with it`s built in hanger.

Got a new Marlin model 60 (had to buy it myself, though). Took it shooting and it's my new favorite rimfire, like it better than my 10/22. My wife and boys were happy with my gift to myself.

how about a 30mm Super Sniper scope and Badger mounts for wedding anniversary on Saturday 16th, then on Sunday 17th there is a 30mm Niko-Stirling and the new GG&G 30mm mount for scope..., now if Christmas and my B-day were to closely follow.......:D

Not one gun relate item

Nope not one gun related item, but I'm having fun reading about all of the stuff you guys got. I guess I could pretend the gas powered blower is a pneumatic gun.

I got a hand written gift certificate for two hours of all expenses paid range time from my youngest (18) son. :) I'm cashing it in tonight. :D
I bought myself a new Mossberg 590 Special Purpose

I got a new wallet, a new fountain pen, Braveheart and Jaws on DVD, and 100 bucks cash. Plus $20 to Barnes and Noble and $25 to reat Outdoor Provision Company.
Oh yeah :$14, 14 quaters, 14 dimes, 14 nickles, 14 pennies.
Yesterday was my birthday. Guess how old I am?

It was a testosterone fueled Father's day weekend for me. Saturday, Montgomery gun show where I picked up a nice Remington 03-A3. Later in the afternoon, I got my new gas grill and assembled it just in time to cook steaks for dinner (four letter engineering terms were used during assembly)
Sunday - I smoked a couple of racks of ribs on my other grill.

Got a M44 and 1000 rds of ammo, she did something interesting, she paid all but .01 and put it on layaway for the remainder (the penny), giving me a penny with the receipt in the father's day card.

That gal is classy.

I didn't...my two teenaged sons basically ignored me, but that's normal. My brother and I gave our Dad a Springfield Armory Mil spec 1911. He was smiling from ear to ear. Good to see him so "perked-up" and happy. It was a good day.

I got a pair of duckhead khakis.

They looked a lot like a pair of pants I got a few years ago and stuck in back of my closet...never wore, too small.

We were with friends, so I tried to keep a straight face and hide my disappointment.

Then my 4 yo. daughter ran over and said, 'Daddy, look in the pocket!'.

There was a yellow envelope from Shuler's Grat Outdoors, our local hunting/gun/fishing store. Inside was a bill of sale (labeled 'paid in full') for a Marlin 1894!

It was extremely humbling...I am unworthy.

Happy Father's Day.

That's cool Cajun. The first father's day is always the most memorable for sure. My wife bought my NC Lifetime Sportsmans' License for me on my first ($500.00). She is a good woman.

YEP, I did recieve something Nice

...

Having no children, as I'm the on-going "child" in my own life, I bought myself my first 1911. A Colt Defender. At the Indoor Range I belong to, where I bought it, NIB, they have been letting me fire it for the last 20 days, now and then whenever I asked. And the "official, legal, and time-line," of 3:57pm yesterday, Father's Day, was spot-on for this kids gift to himself to legally pick it up.

However, I drove my brother and I down to the parents house to celebrate Father's day with "a real Dad", and a great one too. A WWII Vet, Captain, United States Army Air Corp., (later USAF) P-51 Pilot.

Thanks DAD, and to all the rest.. ~ SALUTE ~

So, today sometime, I'm gonna pack my gun bag with my 40cal, and some extra 45cal ammo, and go shooting first, then bring home the The Defender, and give it a loving home as well.

Great timing..

Oh, and I did recieve a great, funny, Father's Day card from the German Shepherd and Cat.. ;)

LS :)

My favorite gift was the home-made banana ice cream we made yesterday afternoon. Man, I love that stuff!
Also got a back yard croquet set (fun w/the kids) and a Ford GT model kit for me and my son to put together, and my daughter (3) got me a "#1 daddy" baseball cap. Only thing I missed out on was my usual Sunday afternoon NAP!!

I've got you all beat!!!!!!!

I got my life back....literally. On the 6th I had a heart cath showing 99% blockage in a coronary artery, with 80 on another and 60 on another. On the 13th i had a triple bypass, thus preventing a crippling or fatal heart attack. I came home on father's day.
I had been having some fatigue and shortness of breath, NO chest pain. Since I'm 54 with a family history of CAD, I went to a specialist, and got a new lease on life.
Happy Father's Day to you all, and a second chance at life for me!!
