I currently have a S&W Sigma 9mm and have had 0 problems and enjoy it but i want another 9mm.

I plan to buy new and have 350 to spend, what would you suggest?

And please no get a used or add 50/75/100 and get such n such

350 for this i realize limits options but i imagine there are a few decent choices and please no big bulky Hi Point..Thanks

P6

$350 should get you one in good shape with a spare clip. It's my primary CCW piece now. Just get one with the newer feed ramp as the old style doesn't always feed JHP's well.

Only 2? :scrutiny: Ask again when you're over a dozen :neener:
Seriously -- what do you like w/ what you have, what would you change? Is there pistol that has caught your eye already?

A Kel-Tec PF-9 or P-11 if you want a carry gun. Otherwise, another Sigma, and the 2 free mags with the current holiday rebate.

Sorry, but the surplus Sig P6 already mentioned is too good a deal not to recommend. One of the best lessons I've ever learned is "Everybody drives a used car, and everybody shoots a used gun." Remember, even if you never fire a round, once that gun leaves the dealer's store - just like a car leaving a dealer's lot - it's used.

A new Sigma, a new Kel-Tec, or a new P95 are pretty much it. Bersas are well liked, but the expense of spare mags knocks them below the others already listed.

$350 is hard to get a nice gun, at least for me.

try USP9 and P226. I P226, it sure as hell more accurate than my P95.

P95 = Solid,Trusty and one fine gun. It has to be one of the great American workhorse firearms. It will go bang every time.......

I've handled dozens of P6's . All have imo an excessively heavy DA trigger pull . Do you P6 owners just "deal with it" or are you installing spring kits ?

I have no issues with the trigger on my P6. Not only that, but if GunLvrNLearner is already used the pull on a Sigma he will have no complaints about the P6.

To answer the question of which 9 for $350, I have to agree that the P6 is the best deal going for that money, used gun or not. The P6's may look a little worn but they are very solid mechanically speaking.

I don't have any "hands-on" experience with either, but I agree that if you want a carry gun, you might give the Kel-Tecs a look.

Certainly not a nice NEW gun.

You can get some great deals on great used guns for that. I came out well under that on my ex-VA Beach Sheriff's Dept. Glock 19 from Summit Gun Broker.

I buy a lot of S&W revolvers. I absolutely refuse to own any of their revolvers with a lock, so I can ONLY buy used. Never gotten a dog yet.

Sig P6 seems very popular. If you don't have a problem with me reccomending a different caliber, the CZ 40B is still $289 at CDNN. Actually I think their P6s are also $289.

The P-6 is a good place to start, but watch out for magazine costs. The Walther P-1s are still out there in your price range and magazines are plentiful and relatively cheap. I think places like Cheaper that Dirt and CDNN have them for less than $20. The P-1 is a hoot at the range and a great house gun.

Also, if you shop around on the web, there are some great bargains out there. CDNN may have Smith police trade ins and Cole Distributing [www.coledistributing.com] has an ad in Shotgun News and the web site has similar Smiths starting at $280. They have over a dozen models, blued, stainless, 1st, 2nd, 3rd generation, single stack and hi-cap pistols. I've never done business with Cole, but if they're reputable, you can add in shipping and FFL transfer fee and you've got a primo 9mm.

Finally, look at the gun shows. I bought my S&W 908 in the box with all the papers for $375 out the door and the buying experience, dealing with a gentleman face to face, was most pleasant.

JMOfartO:

Bersa Tunder 9/Ultra Compact.

NIB for less than $350.00
Lifetime Warranty to original owner
Designed after the fine Walther P88, and is very, very accurate.

Here's a photo of the one I had w/the CAT Laser on it. The CAT Laser worked ok, but added too much bulk for a personal defense pistol so I took it off.

A NEW pistol with a real lifetime warranty is a good thing... :)

If you have the interest check out www.Bersatalk.com.

Best Wishes,

Jesse

The Bersa is a good choice . The cost of magazines is a little prohibitive though imo .

have no issues with the trigger on my P6. Not only that, but if GunLvrNLearner is already used the pull on a Sigma he will have no complaints about the P6.
Good point .

FWIW:

Extra Bersa magazines are a bit pricey, unless you have been buying USED HK P7 mags....

Best Wishes,

Jesse

P.S. But, you probably only need to buy one anyway. :)

Deal with it? I like it that way. What's wrong with a heavy trigger pull?

Never read anything bad about the bersa line . If it is not for pocket carry ,The sig no doubt has the better name and if you could snag a sig for $350 used I would jump on it. but again a new Bersa in the box for under $350 is also a nice way to go.

Just an observation based on handling/firing hundreds of Sig pistols . The P6 seems to have a much heavier pull . If you like it , that's what counts .
