10mm Questions & Confusion

I've done some considerable research on this subject myself and I intend to buy the Glock 29 very soon (not trying to steer you towards it it's just my personal preference for personal use). Number 1, you can shoot .40 S&W through a 10mm barrel but it is highly unrecommended. Check out this link for further information http://www.thegunzone.com/10v40.html . I've read from multiple sources (unfortunately have never gotten to fire one) that shooting the 10mm is far less harsh than what most people make it out to be. It's usually described as having the kick of a 1911 in .45, also you can look up on YouTube people shooting 10mm guns and see their physical reactions, i.e. push and/or snap. The major problem you'll be faced with is availability and price of ammunition. With it's recent rise in popularity 10mm has become more available but it's significantly more money than .45, so my suggestion to you would be to start reloading. The other nice part about reloading is that if you really don't like the kick of 10mm you can dumb down the loads yourself to suit your preferences. Hope this helps you and good luck on your choice. By the way, just my opinion but, that Dan Wesson Razorback is sweeeeeet :D!

While the ballistics closely resemble that of a hot .357 Mag, my experience with the Glock 10mms is that they do a good job of controlling recoil and muzzle flip. It isn't painful or unpleasant, as the combination of low bore axis and a wide grip help a lot. It doesn't feel as bad as any .357 Mag I've ever fired, more like .45 +P.
