At this point, it's up to any other Life Members that might have received this to pass it along.

I got something in the mail but it said it was for relatives only, didn't mention any other folks.

This the same deal?

TexasRifleman & MaterDei,

I believe this is the deal. I have been reading other threads where they don't particularlly mind if it is 'extended' family.

If you can help me save a few bucks it would be most helpful in the tough eonomic times. Looking for a birthday present for my son.

tuckerdog1 took care of me on the last round. If I get the chance, I'll do the same.

TexasRifleman, MaterDei, and any others that get this form,

It does say family members. However, the 1st time this came around, The NRA told me I could sign up anybody, and did ( who's to say somebody isn't a cousin ). And aren't we all brothers & sisters in the firearms community anyway?

Well, I signed up at the $1000 Lifetime rate, and I'm paying it off in monthly installments. Still have $800 to go, and as soon as that is done, I'll up my Texas State Rifle Association membership to Life status. Hope I live long enough to pay it off :)

Any of you can get in for $300, more power to you, we can use all the help we can get (especially these days).

I know I'm kinda new around here but dang, thats a great deal.
I would do a life membership at that rate, so anyone who is willing count me in.

Thanks!

I just wanted to report back that this offer is still being honored. I did not remember but a good friend of mine was a benefactor life member and he called them and they were happy to take the $300 and get a life membership for my son. He remembered getting the mailing but did not have it anymore. He just said it was the son of his 2nd cousin.

I recently took advantace of Life Member offer for $500 which came with a notice to validate my membership. It also offered discounted membership for family members. All they asked for was my current member number so I suppose others could upgrade to Life Member by calling the same number. 1-877-NRA-2008

Forgot to mention that the $300 life membership offer ends Jan 20. A dark day indeed.

Sure, if they will take them I will do that.

I don't have the paperwork any more. Let me call NRA and get the details but I'll sponsor or whatever you want to call it if NRA goes for it.

I'll post here again once I get the details.

Life membership for 65+ or disabled veterans is $350. You can pay $25 quarterly until you're paid up. That's $100 / yr. for 3.5 yrs. for those of you who are "math challenged."

NRA needs MEMBERSHIP more than it needs money. And I wish it'd stop spending its money on junk mailings like "Defense DVD's" and solicitations for life insurance, commemorative coin sets.

This is why I'll never become a life member-the NRA keeps giving it away. Decide on a price and stick to it. I'll just give to the NRA-ILA instead.

They upted the price on disabled veterans...it's now $375. (My father's one and once my business is up and going strong, I'm giving him this...then I might be able to get a $300 Life membership from him when available).
