Well at 4.44 this morning the alarm on my next door neighborer's Lincoln Pick Up went off! I walked 4 strides to look through the blinds, alarm going, lights flashing.

Somebody was walking quickly down my path! nice dark path, till you break the beam, then two lights come on, young man, phone in hand, Glock 19 in mine, Surefire in the other, downstairs I went.

He is standing with his back to the front door, he jumped a mile when I stepped out behind him, hit him with the however million lumen's is in that wee torch, he now can not see well!
He started talking as soon as I hit him with the brights. "I go to wrong house, my friend, I have his car"

I had no hands left for a phone, followed him across to the small SUV behind the Pick Up, he might have tapped it when he stopped. Nice clean cut guy, saw his hands at all times, never shot him, had no ear protection.
Was he up to something, maybe, no way to hold him, was not going to touch him.

Called non emergency number, gave details of person, time, and vehicle Tag.

Did not feel threatened in any way, no one else in sight, did not call 911.

Remembered the plate # went back in, locked up, wrote # down, the SUV left, I went back to bed.

He just turned it off! did not come out. ID? Did not want to get to close, a 72 year old in his bare feet?

Did not want him at my front door when my lights timed out. Fixed that.

Old Guy,
:what:
You are, indeed, a good neighbor. However, it might be a better idea to illuminate and quiz the next suspected intruder from safely inside the house, through a window.

I concur. A nice-looking, clean cut guy could be the distraction, to get you to open the door and come outside. During the day, it wouldn't be as suspicious, but at 4:44 AM, that kind of thing isn't just for the minds of the paranoid.

Good point, he was walking quickly away from the alarm and flashing lights, my path was in darkness, nice little hide away! Till he triggered my light sensors, now he is lit up, and the door opened in front of him, and I hit him in the eyes with the good old sure fire!

Confused the hell out of him, he kept walking away from me, back across the street, I wanted the tag on the vehicle behind the alarm going PU, did that, disengaged.

Just spoke to my next door neighbor, he heard nothing! Timed out at about two minutes, his alarm.

He just moved it under the street light!
