I really want to see any "dissipator" style rifles. I am about to embark on my first few builds and I'm leaning toward a dissipator or mid-length upper.

Nice rifles DMK (and everybody else too). Does your front sight/gas block get in the way of the scope on that a2 style in the middle there? I'm thinking about putting a scope on my AR but I can't decide exactly how I want to go about it. Carry handle would be the cheapest, but I don't really like the way that looks.

I'll Post once I get my camera working

I never miss a chance to post these pics. :D

My registered receiver M16 sporting her little 7.5" shorty upper. Lots of fun!

Same full auto lower but now attached to my 14.5" upper with a Ciener 22LR kit installed. Something about a machine gun in 22LR is just so much fun.

No, the sight is so far out of focus, you can't even see it and it doesn't block enough light to dim your view. You can test this yourself, take a 4x or higher power scope or binoculars and stick your finger about 6-12" in front of it.(edited to add, for some reason this test didn't work with my cheap Tasco binoculars, but does with my PSOP rifle scope)

As far as mounting the scope on the carry handle, I wouldn't do it. It's way too high and makes it almost impossible to get a good cheek weld on the stock. If you have a fixed carry handle then you don't have much choice (for a magnified optic), but for a removable carry handle, mount it right on the receiver rail. If you feel uncomfortable with no iron sights, you can get one of the many low profile folding backup iron sights to mount behind it.
