9mm for job

As stated, if you already have a favorite gun it might be a good idea to just change the caliber. Personally, I'm buying an XDm .40 this week and then doing a drop in barrel for 9mm and .357 sig. The XDm in 9mm holds 19+1. Thats some serious firepower. Doing it this way gets me three pistol calibers for around $950 out the door ($600 for the XDm, 150x2 for the barrels and another $50 for a couple 9mm magazines.

A couple other things to think about, can you just do a barrel and mag change in one of your current .40's? That would get you out the door for maybe $200 and your current holsters would still work.

Also, what do your co workers carry? Are you ever concerned about being able to swap mags with another coworker? Having that capability is one of the reasons why we cant bring our personal weapons to combat in the military.

Id probably opt for a HK P7 or BHP if single action carry is allowed. Other than that I may go with the Beretta 92 or a Glock. Probably use what you are most comfortable with.

+1 for the P228 if you can carry DA/SA. If not and the P228 feels good, perhaps the P229 DAK is a choice.

Though I vote for the Glocks overall, I think one of the best values in a new 9mm today is the Ruger P95. Mine is stone cold reliable and they're a great bargain at about $325 brand new.

Does your company have any specifications as to what features your gun must or must not have? Many companies typically require double action only, no external safeties, no decocking lever, and 4-6" barrel. Check with your supervisor if there are any criteria for firearms carried on the job besides caliber.

Security Company. Not 4 Man Rapid Response Team at one of the Nation's Largest Indoor Shopping Centers.

S&W M&P9, or the Glock 19 ... depending on which has the grip angle that works best for you. My hand and eye point better with the M&P.

Yeah, I just dont know what type of security company. Some of my military friends work for a security company after they got out and did lots of traveling and HVT type missions. I dont know if this guy is guarding someone or watching an empty building or where in between.
