A couple of weeks back I posted asking advice for helping my wife choose a pistol. Last Friday we received our LTC's and the wheels started to turn. My wife had decided on a Walther P22 that she had held during one of our training sessions. This was the first smaller pistol that she had ever held and the shop owner put it in her hand and she went Wow! However, when I came home with a Sig P229 in 9mm she liked the way it felt, but thought the grip was just a bit too thick. Tonight I took her to the gun shop and told her to pick whatever she wanted as a Valentines Day gift. She rechecked the Walther, as well as, the Sig P232 and several other smaller models. The guy at the shop kept pushing a Barretta .380 very hard, but she did not like it. She finally chose a Sig P239 in 9mm. The single stack mag makes the grip just enough slimmer to be perfect for her hand. I want to thank everyone for their kind advice and help. In the end she made the choice and loves her new gun. I tried my best not to unduly influence her decision. I showed her the posts. I think what influenced her the most was that the .380 would not necessarily be any easier to shoot and might not have enough power for dependable personal protection. My wife may be lacking in experience, but she is a strong and determined woman who I have no doubt will become extremely competent in developing her new found hobby. The best thing is that we can do this together. We live about 10 minutes from the range and I bet we will be spending a lot of time there. I'll keep you updated and thanks again for the help.

Me? I got mine a 1.25" NY strip, a bottle of Tattinger, 2 dozen roses, some nice Belgian chocolates, made creme brule. I hope she got me a case of 9mm;)
