Addiction or bad habit.

Now that I'm retired I do about the same thing. I'll make a pot of coffee and browse the forums that I belong to. To me, its like others that read the paper. Now if hunting season is open I'll go a week or few without being on the computer. When I was working it was an evening thing.

Early morning with coffee here as well.

But also after shooting or loading...... which is pert near, every day. My loading room is just so durn relaxing. Hit the radio button,do some dryfire practice out the window, work on cast rifle rifle loads.Sharing with folks on here just extends or bolsters all that.

The forum is infested with Boomers i guess. My morning routine is shower, cheerios, coffee, work.
Another Boomer here, and my routine used to be like yours. I like my new routine better. Now it's up at 5am, shower, make coffee, walk dog, feed dog, feed the wood stove go to computer starting with THR. May through November I substitute "drive down to boat yard and go fishing" for "feed wood stove and sit at computer." Not an addiction, more a habit but not a bad one.

I'm a Before Boomers and do much the same thing as the OP. It's cold outside early in the morning and since I don't have to go out in the cold I don't. I can get by without the daily dose of THR but it's entertaining, interesting, and I learn something now and then. I'm dang sure not going to waste my time on TV news and talk shows.

My day(off season) starts about 6am with me making a pot of coffee, turning on RFD tv for the ag news.
Youversion daily bible reading app on my tablet
CBOT grain markets on my tablet
THR on the tablet.

Then it's out to the shop to work on a project, or haul grain, or make decisions about 2020 crop year........and another cup of coffee.

I think most firearms forums are full of a similar makeup of demographics; 60% are between 30 and 55 years old, with 20% 18 to 30, and 20% 55 and older.

If you go to castboolits.com, then it is different. Probably 80% of members are 55 and older with most in their 70's. Tons of wisdom and information, but their "pistol" forum is 98% talking about things I have no interest in such as wheel guns in obscure calibers or converting various wheel guns to even more obscure calibers.

I once asked if they could create a sub-forum for semi-autos and self-defense pistols and was shouted down for being an uppity young whippersnapper, lol. And I'm 51!

In the winter when I can’t do much else I frequent the forum a lot more than times when I am more free to go and do stuff. Since I don’t have time to go to the nearest range and shoot, don’t have a good place to hunt, and it’s too cold on the water to go fishing I sit in my recliner and read what y’all are doing.

For me, it is a gun related form that keeps my mind off the fact that I only burned 4 pounds if gun powder last year. 2 were pistol powder, but it's less than a quarter of normal.
Having a toddler and a crawler keeps you from shooting much.
Sure is worth it though.

I am pretty much addicted to The High Road. I consider it a positive addiction, for the most part. I have many friends addicted to Facebook. It was not my cup of tea. I tend to gravitate to a general group of people on THR. Even though I don't know them in person; who they are and what they have to say is of value to me. It has been a learning ground, as well. I don't take part in many discussions because I don't really understand what they are talking about and have nothing to contribute but I find the back and forth interesting, nevertheless.

It is a good place and I thank you.

I'm a "young boomer". Born in 61 so at the tail end of the Boomers. Retired.

I visit THR multiple times per day. I definitely do so as part of my morning routine. And also it's part of my routine before I go to bed. Frequently I'll do a quick gander during the day.

Not only are the people here great and the depth of knowledge astounding, but I'm finding that with frequent visits, I pick up on things I likely wouldn't have encountered through my normal firearm experiences. A few weeks ago I was at the range with a friend and he had an unexpected issue with some of his reloads. He was really perplexed and we were talking about what might be the cause. I'd seen enough postings on similar behavior in the Reloading forum I said "My theory is X. When you get home measure Y." He emailed me a few hours later "You were right!"

I love reading through the postings here and getting a deeper understanding of so many different aspects of firearm ownership and usage.

THR has already saved me money. I was about to buy two optics mounting rails for my Ruger MkIII's when someone posted that the pistols come from Ruger with mounts. I've had mine for 15 years so I went down and dug through my pistol boxes until I found the one's they were bought in. Sure enough inside the box in zip lock bags were the Ruger-supplied rail mounts I was about to buy. Thanks THR!
