Does it bother anyone that when you call AMEX for customer service you get somebody in India?

I have resorted to asking for someone in America during the last couple of calls and get transfered. The last woman - in the US working for AMEX - I spoke with was understanding, sympathic and realized her job might just be in jepordy.

Well, earlier today my wife called for the second time when something she was told on a first call did not make sense. When she asked to speak to someone in the US she was told "No you can't do that." So she asked for the supervisor. She was transfered to someone in America.

However, this lady sounded disgruntled that my wife had a problem with the whole deal.

Are we, my wife and I, out of line here? Does anyone else have a problem with this?

If so set me straight. If not would everyone else that deals with AMEX please ask to speak with Americans in the US when you call.

Thanks,

Charles
