Another Common Item to be Banned to Keep People From Misusing It

for me the issue is that they are trying to ban somthing because of what someone is improperly using it for. doesnt that strike a nerve? ban the behavior, not the object!

yes, i know the behaviour is already illegal, but banning more things isnt the answer. what about the interstate commerce clause? seems like the flower company might have recourse if their product was banned.

heh... a friend's foster-father used to live just down the block from the local high school. Every warm week day at 3pm (dismissal), he'd stand on his front porch and smoke a 4 foot bong (of tobacco: he never even tried pot). Used to get the local police a bit worked up, until they twigged to his game...

I sure do hope they ban coffee cans soon, those things cause too many problems for police.

We better get rid of silverware while we are at it. Heroin users often use spoons to heat (melt?) their substance of choice. I guess we should all switch to chopsticks, except of England. In England they would probably be afraid some fiend would file them down and use them as deadly assault shanks.

Only the "War on Drugs" could bring us the "Battle Against Tubes".

Then again, if gun prohibition ever happened, eventually they'd be confiscating tubes after somebody used a pipe for a barrel... I guess tubes are an evil common to many "vices".

Ban Rose Colored Glasses

Too many folks are viewing the world thru Rose Colored Glasses.

I recall when taking Anatomy & Physiology, and doing all the various dissecting , viewing and studying of brains.

A sheep's brain is smaller than a human brain. Sheep are not known for being real smart.

Naturally we adhered to and used various lab safety rules and equipment, including wearing safety glasses. We had some tinted ones, later on when I worked in a OR, we had these as well, especially good for use when lights dimmed, or out, or using lasers...various reasons...

Back to A&P and brains. My lady lab partner, snagged a pair of some new style that were slightly Rose Colored...we had fun in this class....great PhD with a sense of humor...sick jokes, bringing in Tobasco sauce...

Lab partner commented, and I tried on her Rose Colored lab glasses...Sheep brain did indeed look smaller, gave it a more "dumb" appearance, less texture and such.

Same thing in viewing and comparing spinal cords and vertabrae of humans and sheep.

Ban Rose colored glasses I say - too many folks are getting an incorrect view of Reality.

Some Humans with brains akin to sheep size - really do not need to be wearing these Rose Colored glasses.

That or we need to build some cliffs in some areas....

drugs kill

I like the idea, i wish they would do that in my town. I live neer a pump and go or a casey's moto mart , cc food mart. i know i would feel better if a dope head would not be able to get his stuff around my hood .... It seem that they put bands on alot of all things thats need for a daily use its because , its for our safty. Most of the people will be upset when some person leaves a casey, moto , and hits a child or you and kills someone . that is high and just needed to get a new meth pipe or a crack pipe. or had to stop by the hardware store to make a new bigger bong. Then it will be why didn't somebody do something about these people. where was the police why are they not out bustin these people. I do not like the idea that it is so hard to get some items cold med and stuff like that but ,if it help keeps kids or younger people off drugs. Then I for it you should not look at it as a bad problem but part of a solution. try to keep an open mind, jeff you are on the right track thanks for keeping us up to date . if some one see a child buying this type of stuff it may be a cue, maybe not, but would want your son or little girl date a hump like these people.......

My wife and I were married in Nov and honeymooned in the Smokey Mountains. Some of those little shops around there had bongs and other drug "stuff" for sale. The mall in Montgomery has a Spencer's store. They also sell drug stuff in there. I don't know how they get away with it.

Please read the initial posts about how people can get amazingly creative in using common items for their drug support. Then re-read your post. You can not advocate restrictions on common materials. It will obfuscate the intended correlational activity.

A ban on bong making materials? Kind of everything can be filed in that slot. The one I hate to see go the most...

RIP Honey Bear.

War of the rose...er vials.

I pointed out those little "rose pipes" to my girl friend like 7 months ago, and said flat out the only reason little run down convience stores even have them is solely for the purpose of giving crack heads a new pipe.

These are the same type of stores that have one of those plastic candy bins the old atom bomb sour candies used to come in stuffed with copper scouring pads labeled 25 cents each.

You can laugh, and make comments about protecting the children all you like, but the simple fact is, The convience stores only have the items for one purpose, to sell to crack-heads. Enabling and to a certain kind of mind approving the use thereof.

In case you didn't notice, they aren't winning the "War on drugs" and they never will. Like any war, one side has a strategy, the other side adapts and overcomes that strategy, the opposing side then develops a new strategy to get around the other force. You can argue all you want about making crack pipes outta light bulbs, car antennas so on and so forth, and how this one little thing wont make a difference and is just oppressin the man, but thats just the nature of warfare. They have cut off one avenue, now the crack heads got to find another.

upon reflection I find I have to balence this particular thing, its hard to do for me. Part of me watches all these kind of things and says this is just one more baby step the goverment is taking to rule our lives, ( I call it "watching the small snowflake fall then suddenly there is a avalanche" theory) Another part of me see this as a sensible step to make life a little more difficult on a certain segment of people whom I know cost me money( prisons cost money), cost me time(jury duty cost time) and a myrid of other things that are a result of drug use in america.

Is this little piece of county legislation going to stop drug use, absolutely not. Am I going to lose any sleep over the fact that I can't( not that I ever would in the first place) buy one of those silly little things in a piss poor attempts at being romantic? Absolutely not. Its just not important enough in my universe.

Back in my EARLY Navy days, certain "smokers" would use the ever-present government issued pen to create a smoking instrument. I suppose we ought to ban government issued pens, too!!! :what:

Hmmm, an afterthought, that might not be such a bad idea, especially for our Congressmen & women.
