Send it! I'll do it up right and who ever sends it shoot the crap outta it and lets see how long it lasts, been curious about that for a while now. Gotta be an open top.

Are there not "tricks" or modifications to make a brass frame last? Steel inserts in strategic places? Voo-doo? Magic spells?

There are some magic spells that work on Colt style revolvers.:D Some people report success by putting a steel washer against the recoil shield. I haven't heard how long they last tho. I think Goon has done it. Maybe Jackrabbit has too.

I have not, although I do have a brass frame Remmie with a ridiculous 12 inch barrel that I can experiment on.

I don't think it will work on a Remington. At least not without a lot of machining. Colts have a recoil ring that stands out from the shield. The washer evens that up

The Outlaw Kid was always polite and humble in his posts. I hope he and his family are OK.
The Kid tuned a 2nd Gen 1861 Navy for my wife. He did a fantastic job and charged me $125.00 shipped. I paid him more than that. “A workman is worthy of his hire” the good book says. His work was the equal of some high dollar smiths I’ve used.
